Sams Town June 2020

Jun 11th, 2020

We were at Sams Town for three nights just after they reopened from the pandemic. There was one entrance to the casino and two entrances to the Hotel lobby. Each entrance was manned and masks and sanitizer were available. The use of sanitizer was enforced at both entrances. Masks were recommended but optional (we chose to use them). Attendance, even on a weekend was sparse. Our room smelled of sanitizer and disinfectant, but we wiped down everything ourselves. They had one food outlet open, Smokey Joes. The food was decent, but one of the reasons that we go to some of these places is for the food, so I was disappointed. My only beef was that they had no table games open. They were the only ones that had not prepared table games for reopening. I played blackjack at all of the five remaining casinos and was reasonably impressed by the way all were operating within the safety parameters. I'll return to Sams Town, but only when the table games are reopened safely. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good service, poor conditions

Mar 12th, 2020

I was here for 3 days for business. The staff was friendly and had great customer service, but the rooms and food was horrible. I got sick after eating the breakfast and lunch buffet. The buffet was $12 but it wasn’t fully open and there were hardly no food options and they wasn’t refilling any pans. This was between 11:30pm - 12:30pm. Fresh food should’ve been coming out from the kitchen and the full buffet should’ve been open. The meeting rooms and hotel rooms was invested with flying lady bugs and ants. When I opened my curtain, I saw the lady bugs (orange objects in picture) all on the window sill, sheer and drape curtains. I don’t know how they got inside the room since the window doesn’t open. And the ants were crawling on top of the mini fridge and on the tables in the room. The staff is aware of this yet they only send the custodian up to your room to spray. The hotel needs to spend more money upgrading this hotel to standard, it’s in very poor condition. These conditions are ridiculous and wouldn’t be livable if it was in a home. Lastly the gym needs some serious upgrading, it’s very sad for a casino. Most of the hotel gym areas that I’ve visited are 5 star compared to theirs. Oh and don’t ever walk through their grass, it’s loaded with dog poop. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Horrible experience

Mar 9th, 2020

We stayed the night here with 2 infant children. The smoke detector went off at 4 am and the front desk clerk would not answer the phone. Had to go down to check in to get help and it took over an hour for maintenance to come help. In the meantime we had to listen to an extremely loud smoke detector with 2 crying babies for an hour till they came and removed the detector. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No don't do it

Feb 23rd, 2020

The bathroom floor was disgusting. There were stains on the pillow sheets. There is no TV guide nor does it show what cable they use. It was $180+$50, NOT WORTH IT!!! I would take your money somewhere else. There was really good crab legs and buffet at the Goldstrike. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hotel and casino

Feb 11th, 2020

Our stay was in a double bed room. Everything was clean and comfortable sleeping. Desk employees were pleasant and helpful. Casino slots were a lot of fun. We ate dinner and a brunch at buffet. Both meals were very good. I preferred the brunch selection more. Would like to return one day for seafood buffet. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
