Nice Stay for Business

Aug 16th, 2019

We walked into a room that was not made yet so we went to the lobby/reception and got another room. There is a VIP lounge and the the guy at the front was not so nice. Overall, the hotel was nice and comfortable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect by me

Aug 9th, 2019

Marriott takes care of the little things but it's not over the top. Especially appreciate the central air conditioning unit so the room is quiet. Having been on the road all week this was needed for a good night's sleep. Check-in was quick, valet was courteous and checkout was on mobile. Nice atmosphere to relax. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Right Downtown

Aug 1st, 2019

Adjacent to the convention center you can park at the center for $5 and avoid the valet charge at the hotel for a small walk. I was upgraded to a suite and Platinum for a day status from my silver level. Platinum breakfast was exceptional. Did not get to see much more of the hotel besides my clean comfortable room. Friday night rate was reasonable but I assume during the week you need to pawn some jewelry to stay here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Gilroy Garlic Festival Trip

Jul 30th, 2019

We stayed here five days to include a whole day to experience The Garlic Festival during one of the three-day festival weekend. Cannot say enough about the hotel staff, who accommodate all (literally) our needs. We received complimentary upgraded accommodations to a top corner suite that had the most breathtaking views of downtown San Jose and its surrounding communities. This hotel has a heated outdoor pool; coin operated self service laundry; a lounge on 26th floor with complimentary breakfast, hors d'oeuvres and alcohol honor bar, as well as complimentary snacks and drinks anytime of the day next to the business corner located also on the 26th floor. Valet parking is reasonable for a city hotel at $42/day - so we valet it and forget about it. There is a plethora of affordable eateries and walkable activities nearby, as well as various public transportation (metro, bus, eco- cycles and scooters). We'd like to extend high compliments to the following staff: 1. Allison Gong - Who went above and beyond to ensure we were properly cared for (she even went out of her way to check on our safety after the horrible shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival; luv you got that Allison. 2. Zandher "Sandy" Cruz - excellent front desk supervisor, who is a reflection of her well-trained staff. 3. Ramil - very thoughtful bellman, who patiently provided us with wonderful tips about walkable places to visit around the hotel. Additional kudos to: Rafael and staff at the concierge lounge; Lino and staff from housekeeping; Andrea from security; Christopher with valet service. Frankly, every staff member we met provided stellar customer service. Found out the concierge lounge on the 26th floor will be moved to the first floor in ghee near future - it'll be sad to miss the beautiful view especially of the planes that fly overhead to the spectacular view of the airstrip (if one enjoys that kind of viewing). Loved it so much. Sad to leave, but will definitely return and keep this hotel on our top list for accommodations. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Poorly Run Facilities

Jul 30th, 2019

I was here for a conference. Only 2 elevators work which meant adding on 10-15 minutes travel time because they were so slow. Had to take stairs in heals carrying material for conference. This isn’t very accessible for those with mobility issues who had to be late or add extra time to get to the conference right in the convention center. The amount of money per night facilities should be up to full working capacity with all 5 elevators operational. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
