FALSLY ADVERTISED REOPENING DATE

LOVE THIS RESORT... BUT - they announced re-openings for June 4, let us book on May 6, took our money, had to pay it off by June 1, email today that the resort is NOT reopening until OCT. Didn't offer to make it up to us with anything special... have to wait 7-14 days for room refund (but they'll charge our card next day when we are paying them). Can't call about the flights, they won't give you the number - it'll be 7-14 days before someone calls us to discuss the refund for airfare. Had to call the insurance company separately, "request is submitted"- have to wait 3-5 days for them to call back to see if we can get the $190 refunded. Sandals is handling this horribly in my opinion. This should be seamless, they should be taking care of the full refund without me having to stress over this and make numerous calls. At the very least, the call should have been greeted with an offer for a credit toward our next trip for the inconvenience. Sandals you have really disappointed us and tainted our opinion of your brand. This would have been our 5th trip to South Coast... depending on how this is all handled it could be our last. We can't believe they advertised reopening but in reality didn't have a solid reopening plan in place before allowing bookings and taking our money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
ELEVENTH visit to SSC...home away from home...

Pretty obvious how much we love this place from the number of times we go there! Every year we swear we're going to try a different Sandals, but when considering flights, costs, resort offerings, etc., we end up back at SSC. I'm writing this a bit late after our last trip--it's May 2020--and we'd booked to go to Ochi this year, but realized we were already missing the notion of coming back to SSC, and so will be switching back! Cancellation is expensive!

Purchased this trip for my son and his fiance's honeymoon. They cancelled the wedding out of concern for the health of their families and friends. Cancelled the trip at their request just today - 5 months ahead of the trip. I purchased travel insurance in case there was a natural disaster like a hurricane or pandemic. Sandals charged me $200 per person because it is "voluntary". Since when is a world wide pandemic NOT a natural disaster?? They told me it was for the airline tickets which was not included in the insurance. I booked everything from their website, it's all-inclusive! This company and the airline is getting massive bailouts from the federal government. I suppose they believe the average consumer like myself has no recourse. I am so disappointed and upset and out $590. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
4 Nights of business and Pleasure

I selected Sandals South Coast for my 4 nights stay in early March and I am excited to return! The transfer is no longer than what most people take to get to Ocho Rios and my driver was amazing! He gave us a quick history of the parishes and how they have developed. My room was perfect for my stay-Club level or higher is a MUST! Wifi was amazing-I was able to get all of my work done, get on conf calls if I needed to and connect with my clients. When I was out of my room to explore, a few people definitely stood out: Glendon at the bar by Neptunes-great conversation and wonderful smile Sheldon in Epix Photos took some amazing shots! The staff in the resort shop were so very helpful-Definitely more so than in any shop at all the Sandals resorts have visited. Mickal, restaurant supervisor is like a brother to me now-Just a warm spirit! The staff in the Club Sandals lounge were awesome-Especially Keresha! xox You could just tell that the staff at this property love what they do and have immersed themselves in the spirit of customer service. All of the facilities were in great shape-Fire pits were all working, jacuzzis were hot, beach chairs all in great condition. Some of my favourite places were Latitudes Over The Water Bar and the spa. Only one area seemed to need some TLC and that was the front desk staff in the main lobby. They either seem to be rushed or just need some more direction on welcoming guests and helping them to understand the check-in process at Sandals and that listening to first-time guests questions and concerns is absolutely important. Vacation of our Lives

My husband and I had been watching the bungalows since they were built. They always looked like our perfect vacation, but with my husband's job we were never able to book the year and a half out. By chance we were looking for a quick vacation and found the bungalow available for a week, 8 days out. We did a quick booking and this has ended up being the best vacation we ever could have asked for. For a couple who wants the bedroom to be the getaway but still get the food and amenities, this is the perfect spot! Our vacation started right when we disembarked from our plane. Our Club Mobay representative was waiting to fast track us through Customs and Immigration. Once through we were taken to the Sandals lounge while we waited for our driver. We were taken to the resort by Winston. He is very kind and knows a lot about the island, it's history, culture, and current events. The snacks in the SUV were very welcoming as was the stop at Border Jerk! When you stop get some jerk pork. It is the best my husband and I have tasted! At the resort we were driven to the check in lounge for the bungalows. Once checked in Al, one of our butlers, escorted us to our bungalow. The room was incredible! The bar and fridge were fully stocked with our favorite beverages and everything was clean and ready to go. Both our butlers, Al and Darren, did everything we asked and more, including finding us the perfect bungalow that would allow us to film the perfect sunset and switching rooms for us. Meals were brought to our rooms within an hour of our calls and was always hot. The food was great. We loved the ability to stay in our room and enjoy being in our own private cocoon, listening to our own music and being with each other. During the afternoons my husband and I would go on walks and while we were gone our housekeeping crew would clean our room and restock everything. Claudian, Latoya, CleVoy and Tajay were wonderful and it was very nice being able to walk into a clean room every afternoon! My husband and I got to enjoy the spa services while we were there and the ladies could not have been better! We booked a couple massage early in the week, but mid week we had a rain day and booked a second service. The ladies did an incredible job of relaxing both of us and chatting with us. We both recommend the first morning you are there booking a massage. It is the PERFECT way to start a vacation and allow you to start relaxing early. The resort was beautiful! Cart service was always available and we would usually take it to dinner, but walks around the grounds are great. There is a lot to see from beautiful plants and flowers to ocean views that are incredible. There are also resort cats and peacocks! Cats are friendly, peacocks are not. As no vacation would not be complete without presents for the kids and grandparents who watched them, we also got to visist the on-site store. In addition to presents for kids of all ages they also have anything you may need while you are there. There were many things available that we did not take advantage of. Restaurant, bars, shops, activities, parties and get-togethers that were truly not our scene. For us, we wanted to be alone with each other. It was the PERFECT vacation for us for that! We could not have been happier. We felt secluded from everything but when we needed anything our needs were promptly and very graciously met. We both recommend this vacation and hope to take one again here again soon! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
