Great Staff and Nice Location

Dec 4th, 2020

Awesome Staff!! Great new Queen beds. Smallish full size kitchen, but nicely set up with every thing needed. The indoor pool room was pretty cold, but the pool was a nice 82 degrees. Because the room was cold we only used it once, but it also was the middle of November! Loved being on the first floor with the balcony. It was nice to sit out and read on the porch (balcony) and also for unpacking the car,,,,,,,, everything up and over the balcony after check in!! Nice proximity to drive to Provincetown center. Approximately 2 miles didn't look like it would be very safe walking into town with no sidewalks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Do not go here

Sep 27th, 2020

“This boy needs to be fired. Horrible experience. Kicked out of our rooms at 1230am by boy without a mask telling us we were too loud. Boy demanded we quiet down. I said we weren’t being loud and asked him to wear a mask if he’s enforcing mask protocol for patrons. No music playing and a sleeping girl in same room. Boy didn’t wear mask until second time knocking on door with cops. Told us he was going to charge us for the mess left in the rooms after refusing to give us back one the keys. Also explained to us that we were disrespecting his country. We’re told we couldn’t stay there and couldn’t stay in the parking lot. So, we had to drive following a night of drinking. Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel in my entire life. Scared and upset we left the hotel. Good thing we had a designated driver because otherwise we would be the least of your concerns following potential involuntary manslaughter. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just OK

Nice location. Limited service due to covid, but they offer plenty of towels etc when you arrive so no need to ask for more for a few days. They need to replace the cook ware with nonstick. They need to sharpen the knives once in a while. Good size refrigerator. Borrowed a lobster pot and shell crackers from the front desk that was full of rust. Our small suite had a full size (not queen size) murphy bed and a pull out couch. the small suites have 2 burners, no oven. The bigger suites have 4 burners and an oven. The TINY TV was placed on the same wall as the murphy bed, so not viewable when in bed, only from couch... weird. No AC in the small poolside units, only wall fan, but there is a nice breeze. The poolside Grille was closed but we were able to use charcoal grills, but very windy, hard to light. Nice view from poolside suites. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent problem solving

Aug 24th, 2020

I *thought* I had a problem with an extra charge a week after our stay. I talked to the manager. Extremely responsive, completely on top of the financial matters. The *problem* turned out to have nothing to do with the Sandcastle. Everybody makes mistake (in this case me). It's how people handle it that matters. I was so impressed!. Our room was bay-side clean, updated, comfortable. Very good pots, pans, dishes, cutlery--important in COVID time when doing all your own cooking is important. The Murphy bed was very comfortable! The Adirondack chairs on the patio solid and comfortable. We were also surprised how quiet it was given that it was full. The people in the rooms on either side of us had been coming here for 25 years! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Smokers ruined our week

Aug 21st, 2020

I took my young daughter to Sandcastle for a week during the COVID pandemic. The rooms do not have AC and only a slider door onto the balcony as a window. We shared a balcony with a young couple who seemed to never leave and sat on the balcony chain-smoking cigarettes and doing bong hits. We could not sit on our balcony or open our slider door. I went after the first night to speak with management and was informed "they could not tell someone not to smoke on their balcony". When I called RCI to see if they could help to relocate us to a different room, I was told "I could ask another guest if they would swap rooms with me". My only option was to ask the neighbors if they could smoke from the other side of the balcony, in hopes the smoke would not all come into our room. As a result of asking them, they then made harassing comments about us every time we went out of the room. Single parent vacationing during a pandemic is challenging enough without this. I wish we had had different neighbors because it would have been a better experience, but management did nothing to help improve the situation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
