Above and beyond

Had a wonderful weekend at the resort during the fourth of July weekend. Had the misfortune of losing my wedding band and leaving it behind. I've misplaced items before at other hotels where you go into a black hole of phone tag and a disinterested minimal effort to check for the missing items so my expectations were very low. Called the front desk and they immediately went to the room and searched everywhere until they finally found it. Promptly called me back and then offered to send it Fed-Ex to my house at no charge. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member and 99.9% of the time I choose their properties. However, if the wonderful stay here wasn't enough, the follow-up by their staff to locate and return my lost item sealed the deal -- I will look to stay here many more times. Turned a potential tragedy into a wonderful experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice resort right on the Gulf of Mexico, and good location.

The hotel is nicely appointed and clean. Staff is very friendly and during my recent visit during the covid-19 pandemic the staff was very attentive to the needs and safety of the guests as well as each other. The room was spacious and clean. During my visit the hotel wasn't very full so not too many other guests. I did notice that during the time I was there guests to the property were not required to wear any kind of face covering. The hotel only has one full service restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a pool-side bar that serves food during lunch and late afternoon. Upside to the location in Clearwater, right outside the front entrance you'll find a great number of restaurants and bars all within a few blocks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

this hotel is my second home, whenever I have a free weekend I head to The Sandpearl Resort...the hotel is amazing, the valet service always very good, the greeter at the door always very friendly, all the staff who work at Caretta On the Beach are amazing, Paul the Restaurant manager is AMAZING and Marilyn the restaurant greeter..she is always very accommodating, and super friendly. I have a 60th birthday coming up...guess where I will be spending my 60th birthday.... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great weekend stay

We visited the resort for a long weekend. The resort is overall beautiful and the room was very nice. We were able to check in early and received a room upgrade. The staff was very friendly and were all wearing face masks. There were signs posted at check in and the front entrance informing guests of the new ordinance of wearing face masks in indoor public spaces. Unfortunately, about 50% of guest were in compliance and the hotel staff was not enforcing it. The pool area was very nice and just off of the beach. The beach loungers however, were spaced too close together and the pool area was well over the 50% capacity as required by county guidelines. We did not see public areas being sanitized throughout the day nor did anyone sanitize the pool chair or table we were at between guests. The beach chairs were very well spaced. Be prepared to pay $26 per day for the beach umbrella ( the chairs were part of the resort fee) Also, there is only valet parking at around $27 per day. The resort is located on a Main Street within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Overall great resort and location - will wait until the COVID pandemic is over before we return. SOOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED

Check in Sunday 6.21.20 Cleaning lady came 6.24.20 at 10am. No notice of her coming. Text was supposed to be sent day before and it never was sent. 6.24.20 11am asked front desk to have cleaning lady come back because room needed cleaning. It had been 3 days. Front desk said they would have someone clean room at 1:30 and to be out of room. 6.24.20 8pm we returned to room from leaving at noon (8 hours gone) Room was never cleaned. Beds not made, no towels, nothing vacuumed, cleaned or made. 6.24.20 8pm called front desk and they apologized and said room would be cleaned the next day at 11am. 6.25.20 we left room at 10am to go to water park and returned at 7pm. Room still not cleaned. Beds unmade, towels still piled on the floor (did this for cleaning lady) and now 5 days of trash still piled in room. 6.25.20 7pm I go downstairs to speak with manager who gives me all the right answers and says he will take care of this. I let him know I would tell him when we went out to dinner so that maybe finally the room could be cleaned and beds made. 6.25.20 8pm. We leave for dinner and notify front desk. Guess what? Beds were finally made. However, all the towels are still piled on the bathroom floor, the trash cans that were overflowing were not emptied, the trash bags that I had compiled for them and placed next to the door were not even taken out. Also, we had no clean towels, no hand towels or wash cloths. We were prepared for not having five star service because of the changes made because of COVID. We knew cleaning would be on the third day and not every day. But this type of service for us paying THOUSANDS of dollars to stay in a 4/5 star resort is unacceptable and I feel as if I’ve been taken advantage of. As I write this I’m sitting in my room with a pile of dirty wet towels still in my bathroom, the bathroom smells because I have two teen boys with me and I was finally given clean towels after my boys had to use dirty towels to dry off with. By far the most horrible service I’ve ever received and each time I speak to someone nothing ever gets done. The general manager of this hotel should be embarrassed. Here’s a picture of my towels still sitting here. I guess housekeeping didn’t see them all???? TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
