Very Pleasant Stay
Dec 31st, 2020
I stayed in room 104, which is one of the queen one bedroom units during the Christmas Holiday. The good to outstanding: - Quick check in, front desk was friendly and provided lots of helpful info. Hold on to this employee, she's wonderful. - Personal sized hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes in the room. Room was *very* clean. - Kitchen was exceptionally well appointed. Drip coffee maker, toaster, microwave, electric range and dishwasher. Excellent assortment of pots, sauce and baking pans, as well as cooking utensil (kitchen shears, whisk, veggie peeler, etc). Plates, flatware and glassware for 4, as well as 2 large platters. On behalf of those of us who have memories of helping mom drag 1/4 of their home kitchen on vacation, we salute you! :) - Fluffy, soft, oversized bath towels. Lovely Beach Plum Rosemary Mint shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Water pressure is good and hot water is definitely on demand. - Bed was wonderful, quality linens and cozy comforter. - Appreciate the visit from staff to make sure things were ok prior to their departure (I checked in going into the holiday). Unexpected and caught me by surprise, but was a very nice touch. Ditto for the stocking and door greenery. - Great location - a quick walk to everything. Needs improvement or useful info for TA Members: - At 9:46am on the day I checked in I received a text that stated that check in was at 4pm. I arrived in Cape May around 2:30PM, and filled the time doing some recon and sight seeing. At 3:48pm that afternoon I received a text that the office was closing at 4pm. Fortunately I was 5 minutes from the hotel at that time. An early office closing should have been conveyed to me sooner than 12 minutes before closing. - Bathroom: It's beautiful and quite large, with a modern style walk in no barrier shower. The problem? Other that the soap dish on the wall next to the faucet there's no place to put your shampoo, etc. I made it work, but a shelf is needed somewhere. Space in the sink area was tight even with my minimal toiletries. - Room location: The rooms with 04 numbers have a bedroom window that faces the elevators. This was not a problem during my stay (Christmas/winter/sparse occupancy), but I could see this being a problem in the busy months (May-Oct). - View: First floor ocean views are fine. Yes, you have to look beyond the pool, but you can easily see the beach and ocean from your room and balcony. If you require better views, book on the 2nd or 3rd floors. - What took this score to a 4: The HVAC. It's loud - terribly loud - and it's located right next to the bedroom. The second night of my stay was cold (upper 20's), and it woke me up from a sound sleep around 3am. It's 2021 - there has to be a unit available that doesn't sound like a freight train. Otherwise, my unit was cozy, even during a coastal storm the previous night. Yes, I will be booking here again. This resort works well for me and I hope I can get time off in the spring. My first time visiting the Sandpiper and we had an excellent time! The resort is located in an excellent location. The room was clean, and had plenty of amenities as well as kitchen supplies. Looking forward to returning to this resort! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Sandpiper was fantastic-the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in on the Jersey Shore. Inside and out. We upgraded our room upon arrival - opted for a third floor ocean view king. It was great, had a full kitchen with even a dishwasher. The shower pressure was A+. Honestly, I’m just so impressed by how clean our room was. Next time I will bring my own coffee and snacks for convenience. If you are interested I just completed other positive reviews for Cape May: -Mad Batter-recommend for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails -Blue Pig Tavern in Congress Hall - breakfast -Cape May Day Spa -South Cape May Meadows for a walk I have not reviewed but previously have visited and loved both Lucky Bones and The Washington Inn for dinners. Have fun!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great stay in the fall

Excellent staff and good clean large room. Walking distance to lots of shopping and across from the beach and promenade. We had a great time for a one night stay in the fall. Recommend this hotel for anytime during the year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The front desk was very helpful and informative when we arrived. The room was spotless and each bathroom had the nicest towels, soaps, shampoo and shower head. The beds and linens are so comfortable We had a 2 bedroom ocean view and the space was perfect with kitchen that had full size appliances and nicely supplied with all the necessities. The only complaint, we had room 215. The deck is on a corner and very small. However a good view of the ocean TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
