BINGO Customer Service Nightmare
Oct 9th, 2020
I came out from Vegas with a few of my friends to tour around and experience Reno for the first time. Lisa the supervisor in the bingo room is probably the rudest customer service agent I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Her attitude is horrible. Definitely shouldn’t be working customer service let alone the supervisor. Just horrible, rude and a miserable lady. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
We enjoyed our stay

Not sure why all the negative reviews lately? While admittedly the furniture was dated and a bit worn, our room in the Dynasty tower was huge and had a fridge, coffee maker, and large Samsung smart TV. Location is slightly off the beaten path, but still an easy walk to other downtown casino hotels. You can also walk to the automobile museum and discovery museum, although those are a little further (about 1 mile). We also enjoyed the breakfast at the on-site Mel's Diner each day. While perhaps not the cheapest breakfast in town, the portions were huge and perfectly prepared. I loved their breakfast potatoes with green onions! We aren't gamblers so I can't comment on the casino. Would absolutely stay here again if back in Reno. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My wife and I stayed in early July shortly after their reopening. The casino was clean and the staff enforced the mask policy which was good. They have a decent sized non smoking section as well. The Sands has a Mel's Diner which is very good. The property appears to be heading in the right direction with the renovations that they are working on . I would stay here again if in Reno! Will not return. Unsafe. Dirty.

I can't find many positives to share about The Sands, Reno. This was a girlfriend getaway and we just felt really unsafe here. It was difficult for us to spend any time in the casino because of the overwhelming cigarette smoke smell everywhere. When we tried to play a few slots they were covered in cigarette ash and old glasses and trash were everywhere. We just didn't want to spend any time here. Our rooms even smelled like smoke despite being non-smoking rooms. The windows would not open so we couldn't get any fresh air. There was graffiti on the elevator walls, one of the buttons was pushed on the way inside the wall housing and everything presented as run-down and reflect a lack of maintenance and updates. We had received a discounted rate on our rooms, but with the additional fees the rate was more than other nicer places. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Where are the updates and renovations?

Guys trip for some gambling and relaxing. I don't know why we keep giving this place a second chance. Service is seriously lacking and few people are actually gambling. It is very rare to find someone here who is having fun - including the staff. The entire place is so smokey (including non-smoking rooms). Mels Diner has dry burgers and terrible service. This was probably our last trip here...which is sad because we have been coming here for 20 years. It's just run-down and poorly managed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
