Good Hotel

Jul 6th, 2020

Really pleased to the hotel. Hotel location is good. Short way to walk to the city centre or you can catch a tram nearby the hotel. Also rooms and breakfast are fine. Staff are friendly and ready to help you in any situation. Our family has spent many nights in this hotel throughout the years. And I´m quite sure that we´ll be there next year again. Execellent value for money

Jun 29th, 2020

Staying overnight in the lowest room category was an extremely positive surprise and represents for me a good four stars. The room is spacious, has a parquet everything one needs, plus a view over the trees of Helsinki and Töölö bay. Breakfast was excellent except the coffee that is relatively week, as the "normal" coffee everywhere in Finland. No espresso was served and the coffee machine in the reception was one of the kind that uses condensed coffee liquid to make coffee - undrinkable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Convenient location opposite lush park

Jun 23rd, 2020

We stayed here on two separate occasions, July and August 2019, four nights each stay during what's obviously the peak of summer. This is a combined review for both stays where we probably enjoyed our first stay better than the second due to experiencing a couple of issues during the second stay and the score is therefore the average. We found the location to be excellent as it allowed us to take the bus from the airport where one of the stops is a few hundred meters past the hotel. Despite travelling with a toddler, we had no issues dragging our luggage and pram to the hotel where check-in went smoothly. We were given a rundown of hotel facilities/opening times (pay attention to the peak breakfast times posted in the lift as they were spot on), before making our way to a room that felt large by European standards (we had a standard room). The cot for our baby was one of the best quality cots we've had during our travels and there was nothing to complain about as for the room as a whole. The hotel and room was spotless and during our stays we experienced both a room facing the courtyard as well as one facing the park/bay and we didn't experience any intrusive noise. We found the breakfast to have a very large selection and could not fault this at all. During our second stay, we found the restaurant to be quite full with a lot of children's sports teams and it did seem like staff were struggling at times to keep up with the demand but that's probably understandable. Would probably have felt it good value even if paying for breakfast and this was included in the price. Excellent WiFi and the lingonberry cake was very addictive. Plenty of highchairs and a play area too, which probably could do with a bit of an uplift. Tram tickets are available for purchase at reception and is a great way of travelling around town. Luggage storage room felt a bit weird in that one was allowed to simply walk in and rummage through the bags with no one checking what was being taken. There are a couple of supermarkets around the corner that we frequented a few times and found to be very convenient. Tram stop virtually opposite the hotel makes travel into the city very easy but it's also quite a nice walk into town, even with a pram, and what we ended up doing most of the time (if you're lucky you might even spot a rabbit or two along the way!). The second stay was equally good except our room was not at all convenient as, again, we were travelling with a toddler and given a wheelchair accessible room. That meant, for example, that the bathroom had a sliding door that proved a struggle to keep our toddler out of. We also had to request a different cot as the one we were given didn't have a base - they ended up bringing a new cot and this was the same as during our first stay. The bathroom also flooded and the minibar was locked and we had to ask a couple of times to have it unlocked. As a whole, we enjoyed our stays here. It's a fantastic city and this is a really great location with tremendous accessibility, a great breakfast and reasonably priced. The park opposite the hotel is also quite a nice place to just duck out to and especially so if you're travelling with kids. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great service and atmosphere even with the covid-restrictions

Jun 23rd, 2020

The hotel took the cover-restrictions seriously, and made the most of how they could serve the customer nevertheless. Thank you for a pleasant stay! There was only room for improvement in communication - upon booking there could have been a note that the swimming pool and sauna are closed due to cover restrictions. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
