Nice quiet hotel

Apr 15th, 2019

I stayed here for a business conference, and the only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the price. You have to pay for WiFi ($15-17 a day), and the breakfast buffet (considered Continental breakfast in most hotels) cost $24 per person. I don't mind spending extra while on vacation, but I feel this is just a rip-off for the sake of convenience. My husband and I had two appetizers and two drinks each which cost $111. The food is not very good and definitely not worth the price. Despite the priciness of amenities, the hotel staff at the guest services desk were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We asked to move rooms after our first night because we wanted a balcony and a good night's sleep since the a/c in our room made a slamming noise EVERYTIME it cut off. We spent the rest of our weekend in a nicer room without any additional costs. I will also say we enjoyed the breathtaking views all over the facility, so that made up for some of the other quirks. Overall we had a great weekend for our first trip to Arizona. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Average Marriott Property.

Apr 13th, 2019

I write this as a 100+ night per year, Titanium Elite member with Marriott. This is your average, aging full service Marriott property. It is unique in its offering of two room suites, rather than standard rooms. The service is generally great in the restaurants and by the pools. Eddie is a superstar server, and remembered upon seeing us that we return to the property each year for extended stays. The front desk staff is fairly pleasant, with the exception of Ms. Truong, who clearly has no concern for customer service. No matter what the situation, she found a way to make me feel uncomfortable as a guest, or create a time consuming inconvenience. Each one a small matter, but her abruptness and lack of respect frankly ruined my stay here. The housekeeping is decent, and the property is clean. The pool area is sufficient for a non-resort property. There is service by the pool, which creates a more resort like atmosphere. The hotel is set back off of the beaten path, but still centrally located in Scottsdale. The access to the TPC Scottsdale is perfect! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nicest Staff I've Ever Encountered

Mar 25th, 2019

I'm 150+ night a year lifetime platinum (not saying titanium yet). I met my wife and children this weekend in between travel. It's true that this hotel is close to needing a refresh but certainly not to the point of being an issue now. The thing that made this weekend a standout was the staff. I see that statement in TA when making choices and it sounds trite but at this Marriott we found the nicest, most personable, most eager to help team members we've ever seen. Two weeks ago we spent the weekend at the St. Regis in Rome. We are headed next to the new Luxury property in Cabo. We only use points for high end. My wife said at breakfast our last day that these were the nicest people at any Marriott and it really made us enjoy our stay just as much as if we would have spent more points at Camelback or Andaz. Thank you. A couple of specific shoutouts. Eddie was SO friendly. Brought me two big cups of ice at the pool, no charge no hassle, even though there is no ice down at the pool. Charlie ran back and forth trying to assist with a lemon rental car that wouldn't start. I hope that local management would do something to recognize these two fine team members. We'll be back. Great service

Feb 26th, 2019

The front desk, restaurant and housekeeping staff are some of the friendliest, most helpful and happiest I've experienced anywhere. When I shared this with a front desk supervisor and asked what their secret was, he commented how well their management treats their employees and that the good service must get passed down from the top. Such a rare and refreshing thing to hear. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
