Inconsistent service

Nov 22nd, 2019

The first couple of days were rough. The room wasn’t as clean as you would expect. We ate our first dinner at the Oceana restaurant which was horrible with some of the rudest employees I’ve ever encountered. The last few days got better. The room was cleaned properly and the housekeeping staff were much better than the first 2 days. The bartender at the Marlin bar was a joy to have. The food is what you’d expect for all inclusive with the exception of Oceana. I’m not sure I’d come back for full price. Maybe a deep discount. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t get married here

Nov 21st, 2019

if you get married here please get your own photographer. They up charge you triple knowing you have to buy wedding pics. Food is average and the service is terrible. Every bartender outside of the pool has an attitude. Takes 3 hours for room service to come and when it does it will be cold or missing something. Go to Mexico or another location and save your money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Resort

Nov 20th, 2019

Just returned from St James. The resort property is very beautiful and is combined with Wild Orchid. The workers were always seen cleaning the resort. Our room was very clean, bathroom was nice and our bed was very comfortable. The resort has great entertainment with the shopping area, theater, piano bar and night club. Always something to do. The pool was very nice and clean, swim up bar is fun. When ordering a drink ask for extra liquor as the drinks aren't made very strong otherwise. The beach is tiny and not quite what I was expecting. Unfortunately, a worker told us they are going through a tropical depression so the water was not clear at all. Which was a bummer because we were really looking forward to snorkeling. The jerk chicken cart was SO awesome, one day he had jerk pork which was out of this world! The breakfast and lunch buffet was delicious and our favorite meal was from the Italian Restaurant. The Hibachi restaurant was OKAY and we were not impressed at all with the Jamaican restaurant. We were able to eat a night at Breathless which was good. Also, check out the foam party at Breathless, great people watching and a lot of fun! When it came to service, some workers really went out of their way to please you. Some were better than others, but I think you get that where ever you go. I definitely had no problem tipping the servers that went above and beyond, they deserved it. Overall, I was very happy with this resort and I would come back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Service not up to par for Secrets

Nov 20th, 2019

We have been to a least 5 other secrets and this one the service was just not up to Secrets standards. The hotel was beautiful and the water was clear and pretty but the service just wasn't the same. I realize we are probably spoiled to the amazing service in Mexico but we were a little disappointed in this one. The people are very nice but my room service meal was lost 2X. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not impressed

Nov 19th, 2019

No one answered our questions directly. We always had to talk to several people and explain ourselves all over again. We had several issues that were never resolved. The outside area with pools and beach was great. Could use some more dining options especially for lunch. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
