RETURN GUEST

Feb 27th, 2020

After two decades, we returned to the same property with a different brand name. Location-wise we enjoyed the proximity to the CBD area however still in the relax corner of its all. However on this occasion we found the hilly location was inconvenient for person on wheelchair. We also found the bar & restaurant on the top floor rather unfriendly even to the level of elegant. We managed to to dine in the nearby Tepanyaki Restaurant and another Italian restaurant nearby. We are glad to return for the memory. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Yep this is better

Feb 26th, 2020

After a couple shocking stays in this hotel things have taken a drastic turn for the better. Check in was busy but handled well. Room was SPOTLESS clean and fresh plenty of towels lovely bath. Room service was quick and yummy. The pool was a bit cold but I guess its hard to please everyone. Bed was heaven and blinds were completely blockout. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Outstanding Customer Service

Feb 25th, 2020

This is our second visit to the Sydney Shangri-La in recent weeks. Many hotels have very similar facilities but what differentiates this hotel is the outstanding customer service. Our airline cancelled our flights at the very last minute but thanks to the Concierge, namely Colin Toomey, we were helped onto new flights, our room was extended for an extra night and the stress taken out of the situation. Shangri-La will be our preferred hotel of choice when we travel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel but not great, especially for the price

Feb 25th, 2020

My husband, daughter and I spent three nights at this hotel recently in two king rooms with an Opera House view. It was a nice hotel but a bit dated. For example, it had landline phones in the bathroom but no USB ports for charging phones or other electronics. Additionally, although the beds were comfortable there was no top sheet between me and the comforter and I have to wonder how often they launder the comforter???? Finally, and it was somewhat our fault as we must have hit the “do not disturb button” located next to the master lighting button (which is an easy mistake to make as we made it) our room received no service and after a long day out and about it was quite disappointing to come back to a room that had not been serviced, especially at the prices they charge. Superb Hotel - Accommodation Plus!

Feb 24th, 2020

This is absolutely the pick of the hotels in the general area (there are a number). The service was excellent, the accommodation was superlative. Our room/suite overlooked the harbour and was generous in proportion. We were going to eat at the Altitude (Level 36) but when I asked for a window seat because it was my wife's birthday and a very special occasion, I was advised that there was a MINIMUM spend of $250.00 per person to ensure this! What?! The hotel is great and the room is superb, but I wouldn't spend that much just for a table. We went out. Breakfast at Cafe Mix the next morning was one of the absolute best breakfasts we have encountered in decades of national and international travel. Congratulations, even if the long black didn't have a crema. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
