Need improvements

May 16th, 2020

The hotel location is very convenient. Pretty spacious room, however the room is a bit cold , facilities are very outdated. There’s not even a executive lounge. That’s very odd for a Shangri-La hotel. The service is up to its standard! The restaurant is a bit average though! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Private Dining experience

Apr 3rd, 2020

We had a lovely dinner in a beautifully decorated private room that fit about 24 of us. We enjoyed a choice of a green salad with beets or lovely cream soup, the beef option was nice prepared, and we had both of the dessert choices: chocolate or cheese cake. Excellent service. We could control the music being played. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Odd configuration

Spectacular location with the most helpful and kind employees. You can walk out of the hotel on either street and find great shopping. The hotel is centrally located. We were upgraded upon arrival and had a separate living room/work space. They really worked hard to get this hotel into this space. The lobby faces the street but not where you pull in to register and drop your car off. Be sure to check the cost of parking. Efore leaving your car for several days. This is located in the lower lobby. And, the street lobby is located one floor above. The restaurant was closed for renovation when we were there. There was a juice bar/ waiter’s station for appetizers or dinner. This is located between the gym and the jacuzzi ... there were a variety of clothing options. Seemed quite tight to sit for dinner. And I want to close with what a great staff! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely stay

Mar 7th, 2020

We stayed here at Christmas. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with a view of the shops on Alberti Street. It is in a posh area with fabulous shops. The hotel supplied everything we could want. We had a beautiful stay. Very comfortable room and very quiet. On Christmas morning we noticed “Santa came” and left a stocking outside our door ! Fabulous stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best service

Feb 25th, 2020

Trust the other reviewers. Some of the best hospitality professionals are working here. I stayed here during the off season’s Monday night. Despite the 500 usd per night, the hotel was sold out so I could not extend. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Some cons. - Rooms are dated, but well cleaned. Linens are high end, no odd smell of laundry detergent - Mattress is medium firm, and sadly sagged. It’s not the euro top like some of the other high end hotel chains. However, the luxurious extra clean bedding will help you overcome. Picky person like me slept well. - I used Shari la’s limo service. Old smelly Mercedes with lazy driver. Not so good.Check in staff told me the hotel told me the hotel out source the car service. - you wouldn’t have much of the view, since it is in the downtown, surrounded by high rises. That’s same for all the other hotels in Vancouver downtown, since many of the hotels are located in lower floors (1st~15th floor in Shangri la). Higher floors are sold as condominium. Surprisingly not noisy. Other than that, this is the hotel that I would stay again. Great gym. I had to check out early due to their full booking and decided to stop by the hotel lounge. It is tiny down to earth bar adjacent to the gym. The food was surprisingly good & the staffs were friendly. Thank you, Kanis! As a traveler, you need help from strangers. You need to ask directions, restaurant recommendations, SIM cards and help for unforeseen emergency. The Shangri la is one of those hotels that will make you feel at home & safe. I was treated like regular patrons even at my first visit. Thank you TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
