Don't forget to visit the Maiavé Spa!

Sep 20th, 2019

While I can fully recommend this hotel for its service, facilities, location and amenities altogether; I must say that particularly its spa, Maiavé, was by far one of my highlights during my week long vacation. I tried 3 different services and even got my hair cut! I asked for a Janzu treatment and was something very different and very well performed by the therapist assigned. Do yourself a favor and visit this place for at least two hours, you won't regret it. And afterwards, have a great dinner at the new sports bar or the asian restaurant, both of them brand new (opened august 2019). Prices are on cue, and food is great. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overall Experience (Hotel, Food and Service)

Sep 16th, 2019

The hotel is very nice and located near the city center and malecon. We had a very nice time at a couple of dinners at Alfresco Trattoria, our server, Rufino Alonso was a great server and very attentive to the guest's needs and desires. He made recommendations and everything we had was very delicious, specially the Tiramisu. If you go there, please request him as your server, you won't be dissapointed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Really nice

Sep 11th, 2019

My partner and I recently got married and decided to book a last minute honeymoon. Our friends recommended Mexico. We came across this hotel and liked what we saw. It seemed really good value for money. We went all inclusive and have not been disappointed. We received a warm welcome the moment we arrived and feel like we've been treated like kings throughout our stay. We were surprised with a bottle of prosecco in our room and a lovely message from the hotel. The selection of drinks is impressive as we just expected local drinks. The food selection has been amazing too. I would have given 5 stars however on the last couple of days a large group of people arrived for some work convention. They were very loud and the service seemed to dip as well. The staff at meal times catered to them more than regular guests which was disappointing. I'm sure this isn't the norm though. Overall we've enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Never stay at Sheraton Puerto Vallarta

Sep 10th, 2019

Rude staff, management not responsive to guest complaints, recommendation made by staff for boat tours with their friends and get ripped off. Friends or family can not visit you at this hotel. Security will call the police on you if you try. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice but not impressed

Sep 9th, 2019

I have been to Puerto Vallarta more than 5 times, however this was my first time to the Buganvilias. The resort was nice and clean, rooms clean as well. Careful when booking directly from their website as it doesn't offer all inclusive package on line, and it's $80 per person, per day. With no discount when not all of the venues are available!! We were there from Sunday to Saturday, only once was the buffet open for dinner and that was for the Thursday Mexican theme night, the rest of the evenings not open at all, had to order from the same limited menu. They are very unclear about what is isn't included in the all inclusive package, example, went to have dinner with reservations in the Las Gaviotas Mexican Restaurant, and surprise!! $15 extra for a thin piece of meat they called steak. Nothing indicated this on the menu that it was extra, wouldn't have minded paying extra had it been worth it. Then there's the coffee, sugar and creamer, it was like pulling teeth to get extra for our room, I mean ONE extra. Felt like I was inconveniencing room service, or the maid service. So we had to BUY coffee every morning from starbucks in the lobby. Not once was the Gastro Bar open the entire week we were there. You will be greeted by time share sellers, if you ignore them, you may get a card or two or even a phone call about collecting your "welcome" gift, like I did, they still didn't get that I was not interested, so don't bother, you won't get that 2 - 4 hrs back! The waiters, bar tenders, etc were all nice as can be, it's the time share folks, coffee (lack of) and parts not being open that have discouraged me from returning to this resort.
