Good location but that’s it!!

Apr 19th, 2019

This hotel is massive , lots of conferences and events going on daily . However it’s seen better days. I was there for an event. The location is the only positive feature oh and the restaurants downstairs are god also..Unfortunately I arrived a little early and had to wait to access my room as they were really busy . With the event we had a special price of $199 + taxes and I had a double room booked. Finally I get assigned a room 8th floor (840) of one of the towers . I get to the floor go back and forth but couldn’t find it in the long hall ways. Then finally before going back down I found it . Basically it was in front of the elevators I thought it was like a utility room. I thought this is going to be interesting. In fact I went in and kind of stopped in my footsteps . The bed was slightly bigger than my kids twin bed. If I was to turn to either side while sleeping I would probably fall off.. there was a desk another piece of furniture and the bed all smashed into this tiny space!! There wasn’t any room for my suitcase so I had to put it on the floor just below the open closet area. The TV was probably the newest thing in the room. The bathroom had a tiny sink with no room to put my bathroom case so I had to set it on the floor heater next to the sink . The bathroom was so small you could barely move around. It was almost like sleeping in a broom closet. I’ve been to many hotels around the world and this has to be the smallest room I’ve ever been in!! something just isn’t right here . I did ask downstairs if they had other rooms available but no luck!I think it was a space that was later adapted as a room ( you could see the cement under the floor heater ) oh and the cool thing was the windows were screwed shut !! the worst thing all of this for $200+ per night... Not right!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice location and donning options

Apr 15th, 2019

Stayed here for a convention at the convention center. This is located close by and has good options for dinning including the Yard House tap bar with nice Happy Hour ( if you can get a table/seat) there is a quieter bar across the lobby that was good for a conversation/ business. The hotel has a buffets and ala cart breakfast resturant as well. List of places in the lobby to meet or sit to work. Roof top pool and exercise room are nice but across a sky walk if I’m the main building. They offer a $5 credit if you choose to go green and not have your room cleaned. Did this for 2 days But didn’t get the credit ( for use in their resturant for food and drink credit) so pulled the sign to get the room done and more coffee/water bottle and clean towel but didn’t get service. Called the desk and said they would send her the next day. Still didn’t get service so called AGAIN and asked to please have housekeeping, it had been 4 days no service or credit. Hope that is not the usual as it is a ice property with a lot to offer. Valet parking is $50/ night and additional taxes and fees can add to the nightly rate. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Housekeeping has a Thief

Apr 15th, 2019

A housekeeper removed a personal item from the bathroom and out of the room. It was returned later in the day and another personal item was removed from the bathroom, never to be seen again. I've read several reviews and I'm for certain I will never come to this location again. I filled out a report and was told it would be checked out. If this behavior is ok with you, you should include that on your page. Another idea for travelers, if you must stay here..........keep the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door and just get clean towels when needed. 5th floor room TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great, for a conference hotel

Apr 14th, 2019

I stayed here for a conference, and it's great as conference hotels go -- clean and comfortable, with professional staff, who are adept at handling a high volume of guests. Peet's Coffee, Yard House, and two lobby bars on site, and lots of other choices within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to attend another conference here. Great location, tired rooms

Apr 13th, 2019

I’ve stayed here about three times the last being several years ago. The hotel is housed in two buildings- the tower- which was always a hotel going back to the 60’s (and a different building on same site before that) and the “main hotel” in the location of a former mall. Connected by a walkway in second floor. The rooms need a desperate update, and the smell of dampness is noticeable. I look forwards to updates I hear are coming. The service is friendly and timely. The double rooms are a nice size although my room became hot during the day. If you have mobility issues do not get a room in tower as this will require some traveling. There are 3 places to eat on site, a business center and little store. I especially enjoy the hotel bar, a circular bar on a corner that is truly a gem. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
