Amazing...NO airplane noise at all!
Mar 3rd, 2020
Stayed at the Sheraton for a single night trip. Check in staff was less than helpful, it was "here's your key, bye-bye now". I asked about what kind of food was served at the restaurant I got "ummmmmm....burgers and stuff". Several other questions had similar answers so I just stopped asking the routine questions that the check in staff should have told me at the get go. The room was nice, very comfortable, bed was very nice, mini fridge, coffee maker with a couple of Starbucks coffee packs, nice shower with decent water pressure. BIGGEST NEGATIVE about the room was the heater unit would rattle on an off during the night, we just finally said screw it and turned it off all together. Finally the most amazing thing we found about the property is that we could not hear any jet plane noise at all. We initially thought they were flying a different route, but looking out the window they were flying directly over the place. All the other places that we have stayed at around the airport in the past we always heard the jets. Would stay here again, the staff just needs a little tweaking at check in and fix the rattling heaters please. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
I'd pass on this hotel.

This is a Marriott brand property? Seems to be a trend lately. Major hotel chains recycling very old properties with superficial facelifts but neglecting important infrastructure and amenity details. Unfortunately, this property appears to fall into this category. I"m budgeted for 3-4 hotel nights a week. Company travel dept. chooses the properties. I've stayed at this property 3 times in the last month and am not impressed. Worn furnishings and inconsitant room temperatures (either no heat or too much heat, all with noisy in wall HVAC). Furnishings, Fixtures, Linen and Terry all lacking and/or cheap. Would you want to sit in either of these lobby chairs? Not very hospitable. Management either doesn't care or is asleep at the wheel.. Very Disappointing. Please increase your attention to maintenance and FF&E . TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

If you happen to eat breakfast at the Sheraton DETROIT airport , you just might get the most pleasant server !! Janie, is happy to see you and provides the best service you can imagine with her infectious smile I was traveling all week, a little tired and Janie greets me ,seats me and with her smile you know you are in for an enjoyable time !! Then to top it off I met Eric Grimm ,General manager, wanting to let him know about my experience and he gives me a tour of the newly constructed rooms, opening up in the next few days !! They are beautiful If you haven’t stayed at this Sheraton you should check it out !! Great service I’ve found from everyone !! I’ll be back soon . Skip Lifetime Titanium TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cant Speak of the Onsite facility accommodations however I am very dissatisfied with the service from reservations to customer service. I reserved a room with the Sheraton Detroit Metro for a weekend event a couple months in advance and received a confirmation. While on vacation I received a confirmation from a different hotel for what I thought was already scheduled. After returning from my vacation upon calling and speaking to several people I find out my initial reservation was canceled, not by me and rescheduled at a neighbor hotel because of overbooking. I inquired how this could be when I was booked and confirmed months prior and was told that incoming "Platinum" members took precedence and I was among several others to be moved as a result of over booking. I asked about the difference in price and said I would have to take that up with the other overflow hotel but it wouldn't be more which I would hope not as it was a tier less hotel! Anyway fortunately the Manager at the overflow hotel Fairfield Inn, Heather was very helpful and at this point Id have to say based on customer service Id recommend it over the Sheraton. I travel frequently and just returned from England after an amazing stay at a couple Hilton Hotels which are typically my go to. Its been a while since Ive gone to a Sheraton and will probably be a while longer now. You will have to look to other reviews for how nice the Hotel is but be careful not to assume you have a reservation at this particular hotel just because you have a confirmation! Dated even after renovations
Feb 5th, 2020
Old old old. Even with the renovations in the room the design seems to be stuck in the 80s. Outside of the room renovations the rest of the hotel is very weathered. Room - 2 As mentioned the rooms are still “old” even after the renovations. The design is dated and the bathrooms have mold throughout the tiling of the shower. Location - 3 Only benefit of this location is the proximity from the hotel. Other than that, there is nothing here to do. Service - 3 Staff and servers were very helpful during the check in and cocktail hours. Breakfast in the other hand was a little hectic. They may need to hired another server so the poor server isn’t running the whole show alone. Will not return to this location. There has to be other hotels that will offer more. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
