Last second trip due to family member going to the hospital

Sep 5th, 2020

Amazing customer service. We called at 5pm on Friday (9/4) asking if we could get 2 rooms checking in the same day. We are here due to a family member going into the hospital. The hotel was able to accommodate us, and also let us extend our stay due to the evolving situation at the hospital. They have gone out of their way to help us during this extremely stressful time. The hotel rooms have been updated and the beds are very comfortable. The hotel’s location is extremely convenient, as it is less than 2 minutes from the hospital. Thank you, to the hotel, for eliminating the stress of finding a place to stay during a Holiday weekend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Managing in a pandemic

Aug 30th, 2020

One night stay in Duluth. 6th floor room. Tried for a suite upgrade via Bonvoy app. Hotel didn’t appear to be even close to full and the suite next to us was empty, so not sure why I didn’t get it. (Platinum status). Our room was nice and seemed to be recently remodeled. Everything worked and was in great shape. No mold, no odors. Club room is not open due to pandemic and we did not take advantage of the breakfast option in the 301 Reataurant as there were 4 of us in the room. We overlooked the lake, which was nice. 6th floor even numbers offer views. Not sure about lower floors. I am an early riser, so I went walking looking for coffee. This part of downtown is is bit of a ghost town due to both the pandemic and some major road construction. No coffee shops available nearby and the 301 wasn’t open. I ended up walking all the way down to Canal park for coffee.....all this to say the location isn’t great right now during the pandemic. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We did not feel safe.

Aug 28th, 2020

There was mold in the shower. Some of the gym equipment has not been maintained. Breakfast was expensife and take-away only. If I am going to pay that much, I want to sit at a real table with real plates/utensils. But those are minor things and none of them would stop me from returning. The real reason we will not stay there again is because we did not feel safe. The surrounding neighborhood is putting forth an anti-Caucasian sentiment. I don't mean the BLM signs that are everywhere. But rather - the homemade signs and window writing. Profanity (F-bomb) and obvious anti-white messages. We were not worried about our vehicle/property in the parking ramp. We were worried about ourselves. We absolutely did not feel safe, and did not go out after dark. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Will Stay Again

Aug 7th, 2020

We recently experienced a 2-night stay at the Sheraton Duluth Hotel as a result of a need for major medical service at a local hospital. The hotel offers a medical rate for these types of situations and it was a significant savings. We are so grateful for that! The hotel was clean and quiet. Staff service was superb. They were kind, cheerful, efficient, and caring. The Downtown Duluth area is right on Lake Superior so the area has many lovely views. Also dining on site at the hotel, as well as a number of nice options within walking distance. We will be back for a leisure stay! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel with a decent restaurant.

Aug 3rd, 2020

I stayed for a weekend. The bed was comfortable. The hotel takes dogs - for a $75 fee - but because of my pet, I was put on the second floor, with only a sliver of a view of Lake Superior. Higher floors should have a commanding view of the lake. The restaurant menu, while limited due to Covid-19, had good choices. I got five items from the restaurant and all were good to great. Only the hashbrowns left something to be desired; they weren't particularly warm. Restaurant prices were reasonable. Free covered parking. My only complaint would be that there was no mini-fridge! The free internet was fine, don't pay $11/day for the "fast" internet. Remodeling was due to begin on the second floor on August 3, 2020. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
