Our last holiday was September 2019 at this lovely hotel, had such a lovely time again,we were their in May as well. Thank you all who made our holiday once again Have been continuing for 5 years we love it . Every one are lovely , a lot of the staff are there that have worked for years at this stunning hotel. We had booked for Sept this year but had to cancel it because of the coronavirus as I am shielding and didn’t want to risk it. My husband and I are really disappointed as we were going to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary and husbands 60th birthday. Thank you to Adam ,Desire Fleur and Elisabeth from the spa. We will be booking as soon as we can .♥️ TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Plus: The best Gym I had ever tried in hotels in my many years travel all over the world! Very nice and good instructors with varying classes of fitness/Yoga (Yomara and Veronica) everyday of the week and a well equipped Gym that is open 24 hours with a magnificent view!! Automatic system in the reception area, that functions well (in many languages) for renting a car, motorbikes or bikes. Many beautiful pools to choose between all over the hotels area/levels. The Sunset bar on the 11. floor has an amazing view and many Cabanes, but a bit windy. Never a lack of towels or sunbeds. Beautiful hotel with designers furnitures all over(many not comfortable to use:-)). Every room gets one big bottle of Water for free.every day. Nice and serviceminded staff (however many speak only spanish or poor English). 3 levels parking if you come with a car. Amazing and beautiful SPA with many good treatments and staff. One Ala carte restaurant and one big buffet restaurant. Both are beautiful and good. With many chefs and waiters to take care of the many guests in this huge hotel. Wonderful breakfast buffet. You need to make a reservation and pay extra for the Ala Carte. The buffet has a different tema(food from other countries) every evening for the Whole week and a big variation. The only bar at the hotel, next to the SPA, is also nice with different musicians every Night, nice drinks and games to play (Cards, Backgammon etc.). Good shuttlebusses service from the hotel everyday to the nearby Beaches and cities. Including the Capital city! Our room had a beautiful bathroom with a separated toilet section(realy nice detail), beautiful and big balcony with an amazing view, beautiful and well equipped room. Smart Nature preserving system: no sheets/towels changing and no room cleaning on a daily basis and you get a discount vaucher you can use to pay with at the hotel(Spa, restaurant). Choose The Old Course to play golf. And its beautiful:-) The Minus: Too big and isolated hotel! Many floors/levels and very confusing corridors/elevators system. Strong wind drag in the corridors! Beautiful views(golf courses, Mountains and sea) from many Places at the hotel, but the hotel is situated on the wrong side of the Mountains, so unless you are on the top of the hotel, you only get the sun in the morning/midday! The sunbeds on the 4.-5. floor needs to be cleaned every dag, because it was so windy and dusty from the "desert" around the hotel. Only 2 shops! a small one with a mix of grocery and turist shopping and one for golf Equipment and course reservation!? for such a huge and isolated hotel? And the same regarding the restuarants! only 2? there should be more to choose between. You have to take a taxi or rent a car or use the hotels shuttlebus to come to Maspalomas if you wanted to try another restaurant. We stayed at this hotel for 2 Weekes, so we needed that change. Our room had a poor lighting, especially the reading lamps by the beds. The saftybox was in the same closet with the refrigerator behind a closed door, so everything in the box were very hot!! not very smart thing to do! The New Course is difficult to play because its special situated on of the Mountains. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Our Go-To Golf Hotel

Stayed at the Sheraton Salobre many times. I was never one for returning to a hotel or resort once visited, but after visiting the Salobre in 2014 we have been back at least once a year usually in April and/or October. I come for the golf and will play most days (I tend to play the Old course, the New course requires a buggy), there is usually a 6 tee golf deal. If you're a half decent golfer I would play near the twilight afternoon time as it is a lot quieter. Rounds can take 5 hours and patrons don't seem to let you play through, but hey its holiday golf. I'm used to playing 18 holes in Scotland, walking and getting round in under 3 hours, so be prepared! My wife loves the fitness classes, yoga (Ashtanga?), whatever is on offer, she is a total fitness junkie but doesn't play golf (must be the only person at Salobre who walks the 18 holes of the New Course whlist I'm hitting the little white ball-so no walker fee unlike the US who charge for this). Steffan (fitness guy) used to do the classes but was not there in 2019 was superb and one of the reasons we went back every year. In 2019 we went in late July/early August, there is free golf in these 2 months, this is a great deal. Hope to be going back on 21st July (CV19 permitting), I always take my own clubs but you can hire from pro shop, the pro shop, starter guys are really friendly and pro-shop is very reasonable esp. on golf shoes. The golf pro (sit. at driving range) is Ruben and has a Trackman set-up at driving range-he seems to know his stuff if you want to get a new shafts for your clubs. Room choice is a bit hit and miss, you can usually change room on arrival, I prefer low floor overlooking golf course, better for sun balcony. There is an adults only pool on top floor, which is lovely, has a pool bar and they do the occasional aqua aerobics (instructor dependent). The kids one is on the 4th or 5th floor, so avoid rooms overlooking this pool if you want a quiet afternoon on the balcony. There is a also a spa area with massage etc, a little pricey, but you usually get a complimentary visit (ask for one at reception). Personally, I think the food for a buffet is good and loads of choice, you can get eggs, shakes, pancakes cooked to order for breakfast (plus there is lots of choice for your packed lunch rolls- staff don't seem to mind you making up rolls). Noticed one reviewer complained about food, but we've only had one average visit (this was just after they refurbed the restaurant, but all seems sorted now. For dinner you tend to get theme nights, Italian, Asian etc, but there is always the entrecote (steak), fish etc. as a fall back. The dessert chef should get a special mention here, great choice and puts on home made sweets (candy). My wife is very fussy when it comes to food and she always finds something to eat, whereas I eat anything and love the variety on offer. You are a bit far from civilisation, but there is a Spar like shop at entrance to resort, plus the complimentary bus to Maspalomas goes every day at various times. Some good clothe shopping and beach front is better than most of the other Canary resorts. For me it ticks a lot of boxes, golf courses and driving range are decent. Accommodation is 4*+, the hotel surroundings are really lovely, free gym instruction, pool options are there for adults and kids. Staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome, the other guests tend to be mostly German, the odd few Brits, very much a golf hotel, but would suit most. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Beautiful resort but poor facilities and food
May 1st, 2020
The resort is beautiful, nice and tranquil and beautifully kept grounds and pools, rooms are very lovely to a great standard and nice views, the hotel is in a unique location. I used the spa which was very good. There are a few points though that really let this place down and make it a 3 star not a 5 star. The food was awful and the only option to eat in the evening when we were there was buffet. Absolutely poor for a 5 star hotel. The second restaurant was closed, we were not informed of this when we booked half board, when we book half board in a 5 star hotel you expect as a basic point al la carte in the evening. The wine list was shocking, choice of only a few bottles brought to the table on a laminated card torn and dirty, looking like something from a back street cafe, not a 5 star hotel, I was mortified at this poor effort for a 5 star hotel. The buffet had lots of choice but it was poor quality. We ate 1 evening in the buffet as we did not realise we didn't have any choice. The breakfast was poor, poached eggs were stone cold. I asked for a new fresh poached egg the lady making the eggs got furious and refused, told me I should of come eariler they are put out fresh I needed to arrive at the start of breakfast at 7am if I want fresh eggs... bizarre!! Our day of check out we arrived at 7am due to our early flight and the eggs were first out and were still overdone and cold, absolutely disappointing for a 5 star hotel. On complaining to the front desk about the evening buffet situation the manager came to meet us, and did deal with things well, what they did do was arrange for us to have dinner at our own cost at the restaurant at the entrance to the resort, this is independent from the hotel but absolutely stunning I would recommend only eating there. They credited our evening buffet for a lunch by the pool bar instead which worked for us, its such a shame the pool restaurant is beautiful but closes at about 5pm all they needed to do was to keep that place open a few more hours. I was so excited to stay here and so very disappointed with the whole place we will never return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great holidays 6 years running - shame we could not come in 2020 due to Coronavirus!
Apr 3rd, 2020
We visited Salobre for a week in the November school holidays from 2014 to 2018 and came back for a 2-week summer holiday in July-August 2019. Great atmosphere, relaxed and calm every time, plenty of space for everyone, great views from the sunbathing areas on the top of the hill. Very friendly calm, helpful and professional staff. They make a point of welcoming you and helping you quickly settle-in. Every trip we have enjoyed the great selection of food and the focus on fresh ingredients. We highly recommend visiting the spa (wonderful pool) and getting out and going for a walk. Lots of pools and places to hideaway if you want some peace and quiet and plenty of space for children. Good that there is an adults only area too. The sense of space, being up in the hills a bit and away from the urban areas, cannot be beaten - breathe in the fresh air and relax! The last trip we booked a panoramic suite - it was well worth it for the amazing views in 3 directions. Probably our favourite hotel anywhere! We will be back one day! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
