Nice Hotel But............

Jul 21st, 2019

We are holding a big convention here in a few weeks, so we went up to check it out. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are ample but don't have a lot of power outlets for phones, etc. The desk is large, but no mirror to do your hair in (a big TV instead). The bathroom is OK, fairly good counter space, towels, etc. The coffee nook is very small and so is the mini-frig. The beds were comfortable and the two chairs between a nice round table with a lamp were low enough that we could put our socks on. The closet is not made for long formals, which is what we will be wearing, because they're two drawers just below the closet. There was a nice mini ironing board and iron and a hair dryer in the closet. The table between the beds had a clock and a phone but not allot of other room. The restaurant was nice, but pricey for dinner (or maybe not too much for this hotel?) The salmon was delicious!! Everyone seemed to like their dinner but one who said the broccoli was not cooked enough. The check-in staff was friendly and the maid service staff were very friendly. The biggest thing you need to know is that the self-parking is owned by the city, NOT the hotel, so it costs you $25.00 a day/night to park, but you "in and out" privileges.... This might not be bad in a larger city back East, but it is not normal for a hotel in Phoenix. Because it's in the older downtown part of Phoenix parking is at a premium. Also, there are restaurants around the hotel, Hooters and a Mexican I think, and more. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good location , nice rooms , being repaired

Jul 17th, 2019

We booked the room for a night and were surprised after booking we found out there were renovations going on . We should have been notified up front. All that said , the room was fine except for the noise. The service in the bar and restaurant for breakfast was superb. Breakfast was great . Would stay again but be up front about renovations. Good hotel, lousy customer relations

Jul 14th, 2019

Once you finally locate the desk, check in was fast and easy. The room was more than adequate, good water pressure in the shower, awkward placement of the TV for viewing anywhere but from the bed. Maid service was done early in the day and was almost exceptional - dust balls left on the carpet. The downside was despite supplying my membership number WITH MY INITIAL RESERVATION, the hotel refused to credit my points at checkout and once I questioned this after returning home, I was told I needed to provide a 'detailed copy of my bill' - which was sent in an email, read and deleted - a hard copy of which WAS NEVER PROVIDED. Excellent customer service

Jul 11th, 2019

Went to Phoenix for a convention. We can be a somewhat exuberant group, but the staff and management handled arrangements very well. Staff particularly well. Even though there was some scheduled upgrading. An electrical outage caused by a power company accident was handled flawlessly. My individual requirements were met. Amenities good. Standard rates expensive , but our group had a decent deal. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good for a large convention

Jul 8th, 2019

Spent 5 nights and spent a lot. However, the casual cafe gave us a discount. The food was very good and the price most reasonable. Great for a convention where you need a LOT of function space. Many large rooms. Escalators from floors 1-3 relieve the elevator que. The pool is in direct sun all day so I could not stay. Wish it had some sort of shade. Rooms and housekeeping good. Really appreciated the coffee maker. Temperature between rooms varied drastically. Be sure to always carry a sweater. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
