Lousy night at Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel

May 6th, 2020

Spent one night at room 1108, woke up by loud talking and constant door shutting noise from a close by guest around 3am. There is no sound barrier around the door. I have to listen to elevator operating sound all night long. A good hotel stay turned into a nightmare. However, the clerks are polite and professional. The room is great and clean too. Pivotal location in the middle of it all

Jan 31st, 2020

A couple of families of us spent Christmas in NYC, and we chose this Sheraton hotel as our base due to its location. Upon arrival, checking in was quick, and no complaints with an upgrade to a suite. Valet parking in door was well handled by fantastic crew, at great price. Taking subway to Manhattan was straight forward, and plenty of seats as it is the starting stop. Room service was friendly and they are doing a great job on this facility with many years of service. Walking out front either front and back doors you will be immediately immersed in a sea of restaurants and dining options. Coming back to take a coffee break, even a simple dinner or breakfast was very decent. Overall a great hotel in Flushing. Only wished they would upgrade the gym. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Acting with Integrity

Jan 30th, 2020

Date: January 24, 2020 Place: Sheraton LaGuardia East, 39th Ave., Flushing, NY Occasion: Lunar New Year Eve’s private family celebration It was the third time we chose Marriott for the celebration of Lunar New Year’s Eve. A family of 13, we fit comfortably in a private dining room. For the festivity, we had the best of appetizers, Chinese entries of beef, lobsters, shrimps, duck, chicken, pork and fish, plus beverages and desserts. Throughout the night, experienced waiters and waitresses were making everything easy for our night of festival delicacies and fun. Before we call it a night, I asked one of the wait staff to bring me thirty dollars back as I handed him nine-hundred dollar to settle the bill. Unbeknownst to me, five minutes later, another waiter by the name of Michael came to me and politely said to me “you overpaid, here is your money back”, for the service charge of 18% is already included in the bill. Instead of thirty dollars, I got back more than one-hundred sixty dollars. I thanked him. Right there, I sensed heartfelt respect to him for his professional integrity extended. He did not know I am a Marriott Bonvoy member. But he surely delivered “Acting with Integrity”, a core value of Marriott. Thanks Michael! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A lovely and charming hotel that has stood the test of time

Dec 26th, 2019

We have lived near Flushing Queens for many yrs, long before Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel was built. We believe this hotel building started the rebirth/renaissance of this area. The hotel has provided a modern structure to accommodate our friends and families for more than 15 years or even longer. Before that, our quests would stay in Manhattan and then come back to Flushing to enjoy the restaurants. The #7 subway provides the shuttling for people to get to the museums, the bway shows etc. in the city, and then come back here for less crowd and less noise. Flushing neiborhood provides an oasis in the heart of Queens and this hotel stands strong as a landmark in Flushing. We have taken pride in Queens, the so called "another China Town” because the abundance of excellent restaurants in every corner. For that token we also are appreciative of this hotel for its foresight to build a hotel here putting Flushing on the map. We stayed here for one night on Christmas Eve/Day; and we have done that at Christmas time for the past 4 yrs. The hotel has two separate entrances, from there one can walk out to shops, restaurants, bakeries, and Chinese grocery stores on the Roosevelt Ave, 40th Road (the Food Street) and Main Street. In the morning, we would make the stop to "Won Jiaw" (on the 40th Rd, in Chinese it means "prosperity corner") where one can get the most delicious dim sums with complimentary soy milk/coffee. Right next to the hotel, there is a bakery, "ah pou lo" (the Sun God Apollo) where one can get a variety of bake goods, the bums, and the most delicious steamed buns. This time, we were upgraded to an executive suite; in addition to the lounge access, we were offered a buffet breakfast as well. We were treated so well, it left an impression with a brief stay. We are impressed with the consistent warm and wonderful greetings throughout the hotel, from checking-in to the parking level attendants, from the house keeping staffs to the services at the lounge. It was never a moment one feels overlooked, or feel that the hotel was too crowed or too loud~ This hotel should take credit for giving a new look, a rebirth for the old Flushing neighborhood. Sheraton LAG East is very much appreciated for knowing how to take care of travelers and customers as they were most important people for a few days. Like people, hotels do not get old without leaving a great history behind. In my opinion, this landmark hotel is made of good history, of respect, and of pride and charm. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
