Friendly staff. Tasty but overpriced food. Our room overlooked a construction site and we were woken really early so we requested a change. The staff were very accommodating and gave us a room on the opposite side of the hotel a floor higher up. This room wasn’t as nice as the first - it had wheelchair facilities and looked as if it hadn’t been used in years. The coffee was out of date, paper cups provided, only 1 bottle of complimentary water - anything beyond that cost $3. The shower pressure was pathetic and it dropped constantly. Luckily with the door closed, it could barely be heard. There was no extractor in the bathroom which meant it got pretty steamy. Air conditioning effective but noisy. Room attendant went the extra mile to provide finishing touches. The hotel needed a little TLC. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good locaton but feels pretty rundown hotel

Jul 3rd, 2019

The only plus is a reasonable location to access the centre of town on foot (about 15 minute) or by tram. There is a lot of construction in the area and this adds to the general rundown feel of the accommodation. The room although quite large was in need of a serious clean and the carpet looked dirty and indeed seemed no different on each of the two days we stayed, there was also a sticky patch by one of the beds. Breakfast is in an area at front of hotel near reception. The waiting staff seemed pretty disinterested - no rapport or apparent skill. The food offerings were uninspiring and I was totally put off by a fly sitting on the fresh fruit on open display, so made do with cereal and a pot of yogurt.. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Okay stay

Jul 1st, 2019

We stayed at this hotel for two nights prior to a Mississippi River cruise. Checkin went smoothly as we were the only guests in line. The room was large, clean with two beds that were quite comfortable. There was a average bathroom with an adequate number of towels. In the lobby there is a bar and a restaurant. There was a full breakfast buffet that was included with our room. While there were numerous selections for breakfast, most were cold before you arrived at your table. This is because the lobby and restaurant and other common areas of this hotel are kept at extremely cold temperatures. The trolley station is across the street from the hotel. Otherwise it is a rather long walk (or short taxi ride) to Beale Street or the Peobody Hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Property that Needs a Little Attention to Detail

Jul 1st, 2019

First and foremost, the staff was excellent at this hotel. Every encounter was positive and it is ideally situated next door to the convention center. Bathroom lighting and shower were excellent, as were the many power and charging outlets throughout the room. The only negative was housekeeping could do a better job in restocking the room with regard to items such as the coffee supplies and clean in room dishes little better during your stay. Overall ok but not a great city

Jun 30th, 2019

We had a few nights in what we found the actual city to be disappointing. The hotel was busy and needs an upgrade. Overall a good location and experience. Beds are double which want great. The hotel valet was full on but efficient! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
