I am writing this review as a Marriott Ambassador member and against the background of usual 150 nights per year in hotels of different groups. I have to admit that this hotel in which I stayed 3-5 times since 2012 is one of the worst I have ever visited. This is due to the following reasons: 1) The whole hotel is extremely old and was never really renovated 2) In winter time the rooms are extremely overheated and you have no possibility to reduce the temperature. There are a few rooms available with balcony, so you can at least open the window, but not in the standard rooms. 3) In summer time, you basically get steamed in the room as the A/C is very weak. Should you be lucky to get a room in which you can switch it to a stronger mode, you will definitely be unable to sleep due to the noise. 4) Marriot Ambassador benefits are not really known by the staff 5) Almost impossible to find somebody who speaks English For the price they charge, you can definitely get a better deal in Tokyo. Lovely hotel, quiet location, would stay there again!

I had the pleasure of staying here last month during a business trip to Tokyo. The hotel is set in a nice Japanese garden in a quiet part of Tokyo but in convenient distance from down town Tokyo. Hotel was going through renovation of the business lounge but managed that situation very well by offering alternatives. There are a nice gym and pool, and great breakfast buffet. Continues to be ok, but could be better with some small effort

I have been staying at this property for the last 4 to 5 years at least 3 or 4 times per year. There have been an ongoing refurbishment for several years to bring the hotel out of the 80's into the 2000's. Not all rooms are updated. I recently stayed on level 10 that felt very new, very contemporary in style & very functional for a business traveler. I understand some floors have yet to be updated & the ground floor is undergoing major renovation work. NOTE: you do not hear any of the noise from the renovation its all done very discretely. The shuttle buses depart on time to great locations with good transport links - you can be at Haneda using the bus & train from Shinigawa in 50 mins. Where i really struggle with this hotel is as follows; Never acknowledged as return guest Very rarely acknowledged as a Bonvoy Titanium elite member The menu or food on offer in the Club Lounge hasn't change in many years & recently the hours the food is available has been reduced, in fact the quantities appear to have been scaled back Some rooms dont have a desk - reception should ask you if you need a desk & assign the right type of room The gym is very sub-standard & needs to be updated & brightened up - its more like a morgue The hotel is clean, its comfortable, however some small elements would make this hotel stand out from the crowd. Feeling cheated and forgotten.

I made the reservations at 6am and mobile checked in right away and put the arrival time at 9:00AM, of course I got a message on my app that the hotel is ready for me. But when I arrived at 9:40, I went to the Sheraton Club on the 2nd floor to check in but was told they can’t check me in there and ask me to go back to first floor reception. So I did and went on waiting on the line. Although I mobile checked in in advance but it really doesn’t do anything, I still need to give them my passport and swipe my credit card. The receptionist even ask me to filled out a registration card that I have to put down pretty much what is in my profile , my name, passport number, address, email address, telephone number, the whole nine yards. I can’t even remember when I did that last time. 20 years ago at a Motel 6 maybe? So it took almost 20 minutes for me to get check in. The receptionist never ask for what I choose for my Titanium gift. My request for an extra feather pillow never arrived, the room descriptions has a work desk, no, it has a small round table. It say double vanities, nope. Only one. The two bedside outlet are all broken. The only one working is on the dresser under the TV. It says they do turn down service. Another misinformation. When I went down to complain at the club lounge, she ready don’t understand what I want and just told me I can use the lounge and I should get something to drink. I ask her to deliver a feather pillow, but they just tried to give me a synthetic fiber pillow. I just gave up. The food at lounge is very mediocre but it will fill you up. The reason I give this hotel a two stars is because the room is fairly nice appointed. But don’t trust the room description on their app and website. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel is in a great location for restaurants and transportation. The garden is spectacular and worth a walkthrough on every opportunity. The cafe is also a highlight in the reception area. The hotel overall offers high-quality accommodation and has a very simple elegance. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
