Great water pressure, lacking service

May 8th, 2019

I stayed in this hotel as a conference attendee. The common areas of the property - the bar, coffee shop, lobby - were lovely, obviously recently remodeled. the service was very good. The guest rooms were okay - they had some updating, not a lot, but some - and they were clean and comfortable except the hallways and doors were beat up - old steel doors that looked like they needed replacing or at least a good coat of paint. The shower didn't drain so the two showers I took, I was ankle-deep in water in a very short time, and the water looked silty and dirty which made me wonder how clean the tub was when I started. The water pressure, however, was phenomenal. My biggest gripe was with the front desk service. Like I said, I booked this room in conjunction with a conference. I linked to the hotel site from the conference website, then logged into my Marriott rewards account. Somewhere in the process I transitioned from conference pricing to "pay ahead" pricing. I didn't realize this until I received a text from my credit card company telling me my card had been charged early in the day of my arrival. I took this as a sign that I could check in but upon approaching the desk, learned that my room was not ready but I had been pre-charged as per my "pay ahead" rate. When I asked what happened to my conference rate, they told me that was not the rate I chose. Evidently, the "pay ahead" rate is the highest of all the available rates - considerably higher than our conference rate, higher than the Marriott / Bonvoy rate (which I had logged in under) and higher than the AARP rate, all of which I qualify for. However, the front desk refused to modify my rate. I realize I must have done something to inadvertently land in the "pay ahead" rate - I don't mean to imply that is Marriott's fault or that somehow the website "magically" charged me the highest rate - but I am a Bonvoy member and was clearly a member of the conference (I had my badge, credential, etc and was actually on the planning committee) and I find it hard to believe that the hotel could not modify my rate, or at least let me check in early, since I'd already been charged, but the front desk insisted they were powerless. They wouldn't even credit me back my $10 parking fee. They were actually rude enough that a couple of people standing in line behind me commented on it. Usually Marriott has wonderful service but in this case they missed the mark. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Friendly staff & good location

Apr 9th, 2019

Great location - within walking distance of Bricktown, the memorial and lots of art and statues located around on the sidewalks. The staff was all friendly too. We were there for a training located at the hotel so the room temperatures were chilly but that's nothing usual. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

One of the nicer Sheraton Downtown hotels

Apr 7th, 2019

The personnel were very friendly and welcoming from the registration and welcoming staff to the Club personnel. The facility itself was maintained really nicely and is very close to Bricktown and gardens. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good location and Friendly Staff

The hotel is in a great location. It is within walking distance to the Thunder’s stadium and Bricktown which has plenty of restaurants to chose from. The bath was on the small side but clean. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is pet friendly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pay attention to the reviews!

Apr 5th, 2019

I didn’t and now I’m sitting here regretting that I ignored the bad reviews. Everything they said is true. A Sheraton getting 3 1/2 stars! What was I thinking?! Uncomfortable bed - how can that be possible in a Sheraton? The hotel is OLD! Popcorn ceiling, really?! Wallpaper was peeling off one of the walls in my room. The fabric on the chair was faded. The carpet had stains and looks like it has not been changed in years. I wouldn’t walk barefooted on it. Curtain torn and hanging off railing. The furniture is old and dated. Think 1980s. Everything looks as if nothing has been changed since the hotel was built. The walls are THIN!!! I can hear the guests on both sides of my room. Like another reviewer mentioned the bathroom is small and inexplicably so because there is a big space in the room that could’ve made a larger one. Like another reviewer mentioned the pillows are awful. Either lumpy or thin and are old. I can smell a faint whiff of cigarette smoke. To the staffs credit they did change my room with no questions asked and there was no hassle. The second room was worse than the first! After driving for 6 hours straight I didn’t need this. Pluses? Starbucks coffee in the room. The bathroom fixtures because they are new! Location - downtown so easy to walk everywhere. Parking in structure behind the hotel with entry into the hotel. Watch out for soggy carpet on third level parking. This should have been a sign of things to come. I’ve posted pics. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
