Location Can't Be Beat

Jul 24th, 2020

First, this hotel is taking the COVID-19 pandemic as seriously as possible including temperature checks at the entrance, lots of hand sanitizer stations, and additional protections for employees. As a guest during these times, I appreciate the extra measures. For a short visit or a visitor wanting to be around Old San Juan the Sheraton's location simply can't be beat. Easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, forts, and shops. We were upgraded to a governor's suite which had two balconies and plenty of space. The decor could use a little updating, but otherwise the room was comfortable. The balcony definitely came in handy, given there's a 10pm curfew in Puerto Rico right now. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and was happy to offer dinner recommendations. Overall this is a perfect hotel for exploring Old San Juan or if you're departing on a cruise the next day. Corporate Guest

Jul 22nd, 2020

Corporate guests beware...this was said to me today by the front desk staff; “you are not a guest, you’re just a J{% APP_HTML %}amp;@“?e employee that doesn’t pay for your room”. Clearly this hotel no longer values the corporate customer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Paying for the location

Jul 21st, 2020

This hotel is right in the middle of everything in Old San Juan and is conveniently located by restaurants, shops, and the cruise port. The rooms are a bit musty and outdated; I think they assume that people so busy exploring that they won't spend much time in the room. The hotel could use a good renovation, though, to update the rooms and give an overall fresh vibe to match the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood. The staff are super polite and helpful, though, with great recommendations of where to eat and which activities to do, and they'll help you make reservations. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Below-average Sheraton in a great location

Jul 6th, 2020

The location is excellent, but this hotel has clearly seen better days. Unless you can get a really good deal it probably isn’t worth the price. Our room was small and dark with a musty smell; the furniture looked outdated and one of the beds had a noticeable dip in the middle which made it uncomfortable. We could hear every word of the TV next door as we tried to fall asleep around midnight, and after calling the front desk they let us know that the security guard had checked and didn’t think it was loud (um, okay.) There were no water bottles in the room and none was offered at check-in (I had to ask for it later) and I was not offered an upgrade (I have gold elite Bonvoy status so normally would get a free upgrade.) There was nowhere to sit in our double room aside from the beds and desk chair; no fridge either. The rooftop pool is small and was extremely warm. I have stayed at other Sheratons that were far, far nicer — I’m not sure how this hotel is considered 4-star. Glad we only stayed one night! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Expensive, but in the right location

Apr 8th, 2020

We were able to stay here the night before our cruise and just walk across the street to the cruise terminal. It was pricey, but centrally located. They held our bags (for a tip) while we walked around town before our cruise check-in. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
