Good hotel in a great location near shopping, restaurants and Valley Forge

Aug 14th, 2019

This is a good hotel with nice rooms and comfortable beds. Staff is very accommodating and the service at this hotel stands out. The location is also very good, near some great restaurants and King of Prussia mall; so lots of options for shopping and eating. They had some issues with the hot water for a while, but I believe that's been fixed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice place

Aug 9th, 2019

The hotel is very nice. It stands out in terms of appearance and feel. The staff was excellent. The room was neat, clean, up to date.. the only issue was the A/C. Did not have enough throw to reach the bathroom so it's hotter toward the entry door. Took a while to cool down also. Breakfast was great. Made to order eggs. Nice selection of quality food. I would stay again and recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Almost 5 stars, but definitely not just 4

Jul 29th, 2019

First of all, let me say that this stay wasn't a perfect 5, but I think the negatives were of enough consequence to warrant rounding down to a 4. Pros: Cost: I can't think of many hotels I've stayed in recently where I've felt I've gotten so much bang for the buck. As a Gold Elite member, I'm two tiers below Titanium, and on busy nights, automatic upgrades don't often trickle down all the way to Golds. Because of that, I'll sometimes proactively shoot a message over to the hotel on the morning of arrival and politely ask if there are any available. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it does. The Sheraton Valley Forge really treated me well by honoring my request here, and upgraded me from a regular King, to a King Studio Suite. The room would've been massive for a couple, and I was a solo traveler this week, so it was quite the experience walking through the bathroom door to see the long vanity with two sinks, complete with bath amenities you don't often see (shaving cream, scale?). The bed was very comfortable. The room itself felt ever so slightly worn with a couple scratches on wooden surfaces and a splotch on a carpet, but nothing that indicated this room wasn't taken care of, just normal, very light wear and tear. Breakfast: Included for Platinum and above members, and somewhere around 15 for non-members. I have to say, this is a breakfast I would feel comfortable paying full price for in a non-hotel situation. The omelette station was build your own, but offered a menu of unique ingredients - (I had a tomato basil omelette). The hot buffet selections were of very high quality, and the pancakes rolled around roasted apples was a highlight. Cons: The jury is still out on whose fault this is, so I don't factor this into my scoring of the review, but if the payment arrangement for stay is unique in any way, I would make sure that you double check that everything is well understood with reception before you swipe. My company faxes over a CC authorization and takes care of room charges, and I swipe my personal card for incidentals. I asked before swiping, "This is for incidentals right?" and was just told 'Yes'. The full hotel charge was charged to my personal debit card. It took more phone calls than I think it should have to rectify this, and while I'm still waiting on the funds to be returned to my card, I feel pretty well assured that they're on their way. Also, around 10 on the morning of checkout, someone came in my room without knocking. He promptly apologized and said something about how my room was marked on a list of guests who had left already, then left the room. I was just checking emails in bed, so it wasn't a huge deal, but maybe a knock first, no matter what, policy isn't a bad idea. Also, such a small detail, but the scale that was in the room seemed like such a nice surprise and an uncommon amenity. However, it's battery was dead. Overall, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. I didn't get a chance to use the pool or the fitness center but they both looked well kept, clean, and inviting. The morning staff I interacted with all made me feel like a VIP. Hotel is always busy as it’s located in the middle of many business travelers needs. So book early if you need a room. Service is great. Staff are friendly. Rooms are clean and the fitness center and restaurant are great. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

travel company error

Jun 12th, 2019

Our travel company was supposed to have booked hotel in Philadelphia near station but booked this one in error and was an hour from town. We manager to get to town once. The hotel however was excellent and spoke to manager who was helpful. The bell hop was much more help then reception although all staff very friendly I mentioned him to management as he went out of his way to help us. The Ralphs Italian in the hotel served excellent food too. As everywhere we went a glass of wine in USA same price asa bottle in uk but we were on hols and celebrating wifes 70th so why worry lol. We also went to Westin IN Boston same group and that was good too. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
