Amazing views, average hotel

Jul 15th, 2019

We chose the Sheraton on the falls hotel because of the view- it did not disappoint. We had a falls view room which had the most stunning view of both falls. But that was about the best the hotel had to offer. Linked to a mall, arcade, casino and water park the hotel lobby is like a zoo, ridiculously busy. The room itself was spacious enough (we were a family of 4 in a twin queen room) but a little tired. No safe was provided, which left us a little uneasy in such a crowded hotel. The bathroom toiletries were already used- I fully agree with less plastic use but am not keek on using old toiletries and certainly would not expect it of a Sheraton. We tried to arrange transport to Buffalo airport after checkout, and were surprised to find that the hotel could not offer any form of shuttle. However the concierge did arrange a taxi for us, where the driver helpfully called to confirm the night before. Some point to note about the area: 1. Cab from Toronto was around $220 2. Cab to Buffalo airport was around $110 3. If traveling into the US for the first time from Canada, consider walking across the day before to get the entry permit as this avoids the lengthy queue on the Rainbow bridge immigration 4. If you arrange a cab through the hotel, make sure you get the drivers name and number at booking and then do not accept any alternative unless the original driver has confirmed the change as there seems to be a cottage industry of taxis gazumping each other outside the hotel 5. Definitely arrange a falls view room- the alternative is a view of a tacky arcade-ridden street. There’s also a fab view of the fireworks from these rooms TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing view

Jul 15th, 2019

We stayed for two nights in July. We were fortunate to be able to check into our room earlier than the regular time. We had a room on the 12th floor, a Falls View room. The views were amazing - to be able to see and hear the falls was brilliant. The room we had was well furnished, there was even a TV in the bathroom. There was tea and coffee making facilities. The reception area was always very busy and quite noisy but we never had to wait long to speak to someone. An excellent stay, would we stay here again - yes definitely. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome views

We booked a falls view room and were not disappointed. The room was spacious and comfortable. We were on 9th floor with a good view of the America Falls, but we could also see the Horseshoe falls. It was also a good position to view the fireworks. We opted to have breakfast at a "special rate" of $22. It was worth it for the view from the restaurant. A good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. The concierge was really helpful when we asked for advice on how to get to the train station. We would definitely stay here again. Excellent view!

Jul 14th, 2019

We opted for the two story room since this was a bucket list trip. The view was amazing and you could see all three falls. Best view in Niagra for the fireworks as well. The hotel accommodations were average. Parking was an absolute nightmare. It took us two hours to go 0.4 miles due to the customs boarder being backed up. The breakfast buffet was average and the dishes were dirty. We purchased the buffet for each day of our stay to get the discount and immediately regretted it after the first morning. The dinner buffet was average as well. This hotel is a major tourist stop since it is so close to the falls. Hoards of buses kept dropping people off. Oh and pay attention to your hotel account, they billed one dinner to our account three times. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
