Everything and more

As a true city girl, I wasn't sure how I'd get along at Silonque Bush Estate & Spa for 10 days. I needn't have worried as this amazing estate was a dream. The rustic, bumpy, bush road to the lodge definitely gets you into safari mode - complete with sightings of impala, yellow hornbill and wild dogs along the way. The staff was super friendly, always cheerful and helpful. The ladies at the restaurant know how to get your day started right with a proper cup of coffee and an awesome breakfast and then wind it down with a 3-course African meal and a glass of locally made Amarula. The house was clean and spacious and the bed was romantically yet functionally draped with a mosquito net. Although I was surrounded by nature, I was still able to enjoy my city girl comforts: a massage and steam at the spa and a dip in the 2 swimming pools. The staff arranged a lovely 1/2 day Kruger Park safari but the real prize was attending the Silonque bush braai (aka bbq) under the gorgeous starry African sky. I even spotted an elephant majestically walking through the property on my way to dinner. If you want to be pampered as you enjoy nature on your doorstep, then this place is for you! Could not fault this place at all. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Couldn't ask for a better escape in the Bush whether for couples, family, friends the place offers it all and within close proximity to the incredible Kruger national park. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Silonque Bush Estate an exceptional place

Oct 26th, 2018

Silonque Bush Estate in Phalaborwa, near the entrance of the Kruger Park, is a unique place, located in the natural environment of the Bush of South Africa, ideal for people enjoying nature and calm; The Lodges at Silonque Bush Estate Silo are very comfortable, particularly the bedroom and bedding; The originality of the constructions also deserves to be highlighted, because the traditional materials were used and put in value with a lot of taste; The restaurant, where breakfast is served, the two nearby swimming pools, for children and adults, also deserve mention; Above all this what makes the difference is the warmth, friendliness and professionalism of the staff; We will return to Silonque Bush Estate! Great experience

We spent 6 nights here and could not of wished for better service. The house was clean throughout our stay, we didn’t self cater and had food from the restaurant. The chef is excellent and we asked to try African food and he provided this at every meal apart from the cooked breakfasts we had. All the staff were friendly and accommodating and the trips we had organised through the estate were reasonable and of good quality. We did 2 safaris and 1 river cruise. Highly rate the furnishings and the comfortable beds. There is enough privacy from the other houses to feel private and sufficient meeting places to join fellow guests I.e. pools, restruant.
