4 Nights in Amsterdam

This hotel has small rooms that are adequate and for the most part clean. We were not happy to see that our room was advertised on a website for less than we paid and included breakfast. The hotel did not honor the new price or service and it caused consternation between my husband and the evening manager. Also, when we first checked in we asked if the room was quiet and away from the elevator and received a "Yes!" in reply. But the room was right across from the elevator so we had to change straight away. It was as if they thought we would not notice. The hotel does NOT have usb ports for charging and we had to buy a charger at the local supermarket. There is supposed to be a charger in the room but there wasn't. And, after out initial contact with reception we avoided them. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

If you like to visit Amsterdam don't hesitate and choose for Sir Albert Hotel! The ambiance, a fantastic service, perfect location, including ISAKAYA Asian restaurant and bar makes it the best place to be. Thank you for this unforgettable stay! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Two nights at Izakaya!

We stayed for 3 nights and dined twice at the exuberant Izakaya. The food was fantastic and the staff,not only were efficient but actually looked like they were enjoying themselves. So too did all the Hotel staff. Nothing was too much trouble,the room was well appointed, clean and quiet. No complaints from us, all the plaudits must go to Sir Albert😄 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A short break in Amsterdam

My wife and I were delighted with our choice of the Sir Albert. hotel. We checked in and in 5 minutes were in our deluxe room overlooking the canal and with every amenity. The hotel was ultra- modern and clean and the staff could not be more helpful. The location in our opinion is the best- in the fashionable De Pijp, next to the AlbertCuyp market and just 12 minutes walk to the Museum Quarter. We will definitely be staying there again - highly recommended. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

All mouth and no trousers

I travel a lot for business and also for leisure and I am acquainted to different levels of quality. Price vs Quality ratio is what I look for. A little gap between expectations and reality is normal , but my experience of Sir Albert was a huge gap and really a low value for the money. I keep receiving their flashy marketing newsletter and I decided to add my review to rebalance truth. 1. *Bar area and “boom boom” music*: My room was at the same level of the bar just opposite direction. Loud music with corridor doors left wide open. I like all sort of music, when I want to listen to it. Not when I am trying to get asleep after midnight. Reception was made aware. 2. *the room design end user experience*: obviously the design is conceived to be “trendy”, heck with being confortable. -) room furniture colour was total black plus lights were set so low with no way to make them brighter, therefore you can barely see objects around at night. Put aside to work in there. -) shower and WC are the size of an airplane toilet and make you feeling like Gulliver in the land of Lilliputians. Again total black and poor lighting makes you feel like a blind in an Armani store. -) bedside table so small and so crowded with useless objects (e. g. humongous vintage phone) you can’t even put your glasses on. Literally. -) a tiny unconfortable desk was available as I needed to use my PC for work, but then I found out the desk lamp did not work at all. Because of the already poor room lighting that made working at the desk impossible. I asked reception to fix it and after several attempts were made to change the bulb or change the lamp they gave up. I had to suggest to provide me with a second ground lamp. Why ? because they were not able to take out and substitute the one embedded (!!). A design issue... -) bathropes, obviously in dark gray again, were so rough and coarse making them totally unfit to their original scope: just absorb water. Another design object for marketing pictures not for comfort. -) the TV was a piece of art itself: a black LG which everytime was turned on went through a 5+ (five) minutes bootstrap of its firmware. Measured. Pictures available on demand. Reception informed was (again) useless. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
