Refined and tasteful hotel, larger then the facade suggests

Feb 16th, 2020

A refined and well-designed hotel, parts of the public areas are close to beautiful. the reception staff are exceptionally helpful and welcoming. the Bar is slightly more functional and the prices are as you would expect for a Capital city centre, but you do get bowls of delicious nuts with a glass of Leffe Blonde (also delicious). The Superior rooms are generously large at 50SqM, and the rainfall showers are a luxury touch you will enjoy. Bose sound systems are discreetly switched to light jazz or classical on your return, giving a soft welcome back after a day's work. Any faults - not really. One room I had on one my my recent stays, had a reading light broken, and the security chain was sited slightly too far away from the latch to allow it to be used; but the beds are very comfortable and the walls are such that very little outside noise creeps in, which is a particular plus point if you are able to lie in. The breakfasts are priced a little high - 29Eur for an A La Carte - with a French style buffet you have to ask for eggs but cold meats, cereals and fruit are all available. All in all it's a good place to base yourself - close to a choice of 3 Metro stations, opposite the luxury stores of the Rue de Waterloo and several arcades and shopping streets within a 15 minute walk. Room prices tend to vary greatly - I have had the same room for 180 one week, and 260 the next; but large events are all known about well in advance, rooms are block-booked and so with high demand comes higher prices. If you want this hotel - and I do recommend it - book early and check the daily rates, as they too can change by as much as 80 Eur ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice place to stay

Feb 5th, 2020

Nice Hotel, well located in Brussels. Room a little too small for the hotel's standing. During our stay the restaurant was closed and transferred to the breakfast room... but the staff was very professional. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Impromptu New Year stay

Jan 7th, 2020

Staff were really excellent, without exception. A vast contrast to those in an unnamed luxury hotel we stayed in the previous night in UK. Really well trained, well motivated and helpful. Thank you. However, room was very tired, the bar was really not upto paar for such a hotel. There are to be some redecorating efforts I understand but I wouldn't stay again until they are completed. Isabelle is an amazing person

Jan 5th, 2020

This message is simply a glowing thank you to Isabelle in the front desk. When i arrived i had a few unfortunate events happen to me that made me very upset. Although she was not the receptionist talking to me, she apologized and helped calm me down. She was amazing, kind, always smiling and polite. She went above and beyond any expectations i had for customer service and satisfaction. If she was not there to settle me down and solve my problem i would have never stayed in a Sofitel ever again. But now Isabelle has eased any bad feelings i have and i am honestly happier than i ever was with your franchise. Isabelle, thank you for the gift ad letter you left on my bed. It was delicious and my wife loved the Chocolate. Thank you again Isabelle Sofitel is very lucky to have someone like you as a part of your staff. Also, the location of the Sofitel Le Louis is great. Smack in the middle of the main market place. Apple store is right next door just so you know how great the location is. Thanks TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Sofitel Brussels

Jan 3rd, 2020

We travelled by taxi from the airport which was easy and cost €50 The Louise metro station was very close by and was a great transport link to all places. The grand place was a lovely 20 minute slow walk. The room was a lovely size and all amenities were available. The breakfast was good, it was nice that we could order to the room for no extra charge. What makes this hotel stand out is the absolutely fantastic staff. The reception staff were so helpful, the concierge gave great information to help us tour the Christmas markets. 5/5 and hats off to them!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
