In need of a refurb

Probably one of the worst sofitels globally when it comes to the building itself. It felt old and in dire need of an upgrade. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite, but I can't recommend paying full price for it. Furniture was old and it smelled a bit moldy when entering the suite, the windows were dirty, bed was sagging, balcony space not cleaned, curtains letting tons of light in on the sides etc. This is not say our stay was horrible, just that it's not consistent with what you'd expect with a 4-5 star hotel. The staff was very nice and location central to the places we visited in LA. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent service

This review is long overdue, now that I am in quarantine I have time to write it. Upon my visit a while ago to the Sofitel Hotel I came across a very well-spoken and confident gentlemen named Raul Rubio. Raul opened my car door, greeted me, asked if I had any luggage which I did not and then personally escorted me inside the hotel and offered me water, tea or coffee. The 6-star service didn’t stop there. He informed me about the artwork displayed in the lobby area, the menu at Esterel and the nightlife at Riviera 31 bar. In addition, he gave me a verbal tour of the property and it’s amenities like the gym, salon, spa etc. I went from being a patron to wanting to spend the night at your hotel. I came to find out after receiving a Sofitel business card from him that he was a security agent when the whole time during our interaction I thought he was the hotel manager. Raul is definitely one of a kind and no doubt he will be success in anything he does as  he mentioned wanting to be a future entrepreneur and become his own boss. If I had a business, I would hire this man on the spot. Sorry for the late review Mr. Rubio and I hope you get to see this comment. Best of luck future CEO ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good hotel, but totally overpriced

The hotel is really nice; very friendly service. But it is totally overpriced: parking 50 USD per night (and there is no other possibility to park your car anywhere else), resort fee 30 USD per day - but what for? This hotel isn't a resort. The location is also not the best - you can't just really walk around there and enjoy Beverly Hills; you still need to take the car. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Sofitel Beverly Hills - the great, the OK and the bad

Overall we felt for the amount of money we paid, the hotel is not worth it. We have had better value for money elsewhere (admittedly this was our first time in LA, so it could be down to the city). However, I would not pay this much for a hotel of this calibre. *The great* – the location of the hotel is excellent with some great shopping, eating options and nice neighbourhoods to walk around. With a bus stop literally outside the hotel – we managed to see quite a lot in LA! Equally, found some excellent bargains in Macy’s, Nordstorm, and TJ Maxx 😊 (all in walking distance). However, after forgetting our beloved USB stick behind in the hotel room, we were gutted. After all, we had so many memories saved on it. Come to the rescue, Mr Raul Rubio! His passion to help customers is amazing. After reaching our home country, we called and informed him of what had happened and were blown away by his passion to help us. He went out of the way to get our USB stick to us despite having to spend a lot of time and money out of his pocket. It is quite rare to see someone with so much passion to help. Thank you Raul - next time we are in LA drinks are on us. *The OK* - the hotel barely gives a 4-star vibe. We felt the colours and decor were a bit tacky but might appeal to some so would rate that OK. The room we stayed in was on 3rd floor was decent sized and amenities wise was OK. Every day, the room service brought water bottles to our room and any food and parcel deliveries were forwarded as well which was helpful. *The bad* - During check in we were asked quite a few repetitive questions and were at the desk for a good 40 minutes (after a 13 hour flight). There was some confusion around a 'paid' Vs 'free' room upgrade. Despite being clear from our end about not wanting to spend more, we were moved to a ‘upgraded room’ on Day 2 (which was not yet cleaned after previous guest checkout) and upon complaining were returned to an original room type (after having to pack and move luggage twice). Additionally, we were charged for the upgrade which we had to spend time explaining to get those unfair charges reversed. Swimming pool does not look worthy of a 4 star. The mattress in the room was not good and gave us sore backs. Room windows do not block noise from the street through the night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Raul Rubio - Great Service

Raul is the man. Helped me find my shoes that I left in the hotel and was very attentive/accommodating. Came to the hotel and the staff was also very nice. Overall great hotel would recommend a stay here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
