Perfect weekend, amazing views, great location

Mar 10th, 2020

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel for a long weekend and had the most perfect stay. Staff were extremely accommodating and helpful - we were upgraded to the harbour view, (which was truly beautiful), checked in 4 hours early and had complimentary treats and a welcome drink for my husbands birthday! Concierge were also very helpful in recommending restaurants and top sights to visit. The location was perfect for great views of the port and only a 15 mins walk away from the metro, buses, museum, restaurants, and bars. The rooftop bar was a plus and great place to grab a drink with a view. Highly recommend - we couldn't be happier with our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Mar 9th, 2020

I went on a ten day trip alone to get some relaxing time just for me and my first stop was Marseilles.. I stayed at the Sofitel for a few nights and I must say I was VERY happy.. from the check-in service to the view from my room 631 which was great , nice size , the breakfast ,spa, restaurants, decor and service I was totally satisfied. The staff was very helpful , professional and welcoming. The location was perfect for , walking to the fort, port, shopping, restaurants, museums etc.... the rooftop bar was a plus really didn't have to leave my hotel but i did so i could get a good feel of Marseilles. Fun and cool place

Feb 16th, 2020

Visiting Marseille for the first time for work and this hotel was a pretty cool place to stay at. The place was trendy, new and clean. The rooftop restaurant and bar is very nice and can oversee the entire Marseille port. They had a night party on Tuesday. I guess its fine for younger people but might not be so great for older people if they need sleep. It also depends on which side of the hotel you are placed that you may or may not hear the music. Service is really good but rooms are really not up to standard

Feb 13th, 2020

We've spent 5 nights at Sofitel Marseille Vieux-Port. We've chosen this hotel for it's location and for what we've thought more classical decor of rooms according pictures the hotel presents. We've booked a deluxe room with a terrace as it's the only category which is available with a private terrace. To be honest when we've arrived and we saw the room we wanted to leave the hotel immediately. The room is definitely not up to standard of a 5*. As we had restricted cancellation policy and we didn't want to bother ourselves changing the plans the last minute we've decided to stay. The hotel did offer us to change the original room we were offered to one more recently renovated (which was a little better than the 1st one but still not up to standards). To be honest after our stay I can say the hotel has both pros and cons. I will start with good: - The staff is really friendly and professional. Everywhere: reception, spa, restaurant. Just good words about the people. - Location of the hotel is really great: on the old port but not too noisy, the views are really really beautiful! - Beds and bed linen are very comfortable. -The therapists at SPA work really great. -Good food. Not that good side: - The rooms with terrace badly need renovation (old and very "tired" furniture, some with stains, electronic devises, paint etc.) -I did ask to see rooms without terraces in upper floors which are supposed to be renovated more recently and though they might be a little bit in better condition but, in my opinion, they are still not up to 5* standard. - In the rooms with terraces there is no privacy at all: you can see inside your neighbours room if the curtain is open and they can see inside yours. -Breakfast is good but really not great (once again not a real 5* choice I would say). - The hotel, except maybe reception area, really needs renovation to make it 5*. After our stay I can say that we were really disappointed with the quality of the room but we've really enjoyed beautiful views and the friendliness of staff. I am not sure though if we would come back to Sofitel when back to Marseille. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Sustainable excellent reception and service

Only positive impressions each time about the whole team. Voiturier, réception, concierge - professional, welcoming, making you feel good. And of course the barman upstairs 💎 If you a cocktail lover - not to miss his creations. Stayed in last 4 months more than 5 times and each time it’s my best welcoming experience.
