The SoHo Grand defines what SoHo is today — once pioneering, now expensive, and with a vaguely creative vibe. As new properties crowd the field, the Grand's low-key sophistication stands out.

Sure to set tails wagging (literally), the space, conceived by renowned garden designer, Rebecca Cole, nestles between the luxe, pet-friendly hotel and the charming St Alphonsus Liguori Church, on West Broadway.

Guest Rooms

The property is distinctly industrial-chic (New York Magazine describes it as a "hipster paradise"). But some of the standard rooms, in beiges and browns, can feel quite traditional though whimsical touches, such as wispy cloud wall details, keep most rooms from feeling too staid. The loft spaces and penthouses have more character and space, and the hotel's well-appointed rooms do not feel as cramped as their midtown competitors.
  • C.O. Bigelow bath products, Egyptian cotton linens and a gourmet minibar in all rooms
  • Bathrobes and slippers are available upon request
  • There are two terraced rooms on the property, in addition to the loft spaces and penthouse

The hotel technically has four distinct restaurant spaces, though three of them run as a single unit and offer similar menus. Gilligan's, the fourth eatery, is a seasonal outdoor dining space that serves locally sourced cuisine from nearby Long Island farms. The Grand Bar serves three meals a day and is the main eatery of the other three. It's open daily from 7 a.m. to close. The vibe in the Club Room is very trendy and has many celebrity visitors. The Salon is a less formal setting for breakfast, lunch, dinner or wine.
  • Breakfast is served daily from 7 to 11 a.m. in the Club Room
