Home Sweet Home... Away From Home
Oct 13th, 2020
For the sake of full disclosure (LOL) I'm a regular at The SoHo Grand. That being said, I hadn't stayed there since late February 2020 and it was great to be back. The greeting I received from the front desk as well as every employee whether they knew me or not was friendly and welcoming. My room felt like it was MY room and it was perfect. I ate several meals at the SoHo Diner (part of the hotel) and my breakfasts and lunches were terrific. So was the service. Whether upstairs in my room, dining downstairs or in any of the common areas I felt safe and secure as all COVID protocols were followed to the letter. This trip was a combination business and pleasure and I look forward to returning later this month for another few days. I'll close with a BIG thank you SoHo Grand for another great stay. Amazing hotel and staff

Small, modern rooms, excellent mini bar selection, quiet for the bustling streets of Soho. Room service could use some improvement, and Soho Diner is the only (& main) downfall of this establishment. Murat, the GM and his staff were excellent, on point, and the food is excellent. Great location and practical space for a NYC trip. PS Everything was disinfected and followed the COVID-19 safety precautions. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Wedding at the Soho Grand
Sep 22nd, 2020
We recently had our wedding in NYC during the height of covid. The event was incredibly special and so much of it is thanks to the staff and accommodations at the SoHo grand. We were very fortunate to work with Kelley who connected us with Murat who simply went above and beyond for us. The hotel was spotless and they did everything to keep is clean and safe. We stayed in the North suite and anyone would be lucky to stay in such a 5-star room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

So, oddly enough - I chose this hotel based on a variety of factors, including price, and other reviews. I had it down to three or four, but I knocked my number one out for price (which with hidden fees - this would have been the same) and I took out another because there were repeated problems with billing. Well, that should have also been a non-issue, because after trying to resolve the minibar problem with the Soho Grand, I tell you - I passed on the $8.50 Snickers candy bar, but got charged for it - or heaven knows what, anyway. Plus, the amenity fee of around $40 per night that gets tacked on, at - wait for it - check-out. So, add $50 to your room charge in your head when you book here, per night. The room was fine. It was comfortable enough. I tried calling the front desk and the concierge desk in the morning without answer for a long time. No one was near the ground floor at check-in. The front desk staff was average and slightly confrontational, long before she got to me and my amenity fee problem, because lots of people had problems and solutions seemed difficult. I won't stay here again. I was ready to like, heck - love it, but the aftertaste of trying to sort this out - it's not good. I read another review that said that they were surprised after several nights with several rooms with $700 of amenity fees (in a pandemic, when you can't enjoy half the hotel, anyway) - I bet that was delightful and I saw I'm not the first person to get charged for the minibar without any resolution. So, instead of enjoying whatever it was that I was supposed to have enjoyed from the minibar, I'll share that you might have billing problems - you might like this hotel, but - I've stayed at quite a few hotels in New York over the past month, I've been in NY for a few months this summer for business - this is the only one getting a bad review. You can do a lot better for quite a bit less. I promise. I recommend choosing your runner-up. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Staycation in the time of COVID
Aug 30th, 2020
My husband and I live in NYC but we were looking at trying to change up the scenery from our neighborhood and get out of our apartment (also our A/C is not working so well)for a couple of days. We choose this hotel because of the rave reviews about the dog park, and since we were also bringing our pooch along this was a huge selling point. We checked in and were immediately offered prosecco or water. To gain access to the dog park we had to sign a small form (pretty basic stuff). They even offered us a dog bed and bowls if needed. The staff was very friendly and they are taking COVID and social distancing very seriously. We had a king deluxe room and was quite spacious for an NYC hotel. I will say that the room upon entry did smell like dog slightly but it wasn't strong or long lasting. The bed was super comfy, the A/C was spectacular and quiet. The bathroom was a good size and while the water takes a bit to heat up, the shower was also very nice. The dog park was really a nice amenity and I highly recommend the hotel because if it. The hotel is in a great location, close to the subway and many restaurants. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
