Exclusive hotel known for its parties and members-only atmosphere
No on-site fitness center
Located in Manhattan's trendy Meatpacking District, the Soho House New York is both a private members club and a hotel. On the grounds of the property, you'll find the Cowshed Spa, a restaurant and even a 44-seat "screening room" available for rent. Hotel guests can enjoy one of 30 rooms and the rooftop's lounge and heated pool, though many say the pool area gets packed when the weather's nice. Rooms feature rainfall shower heads, Cowshed bath products and modern-yet-minimalist decor.  But despite the exclusive feel here, some guests call to attention the Soho House New York's noise and popularity.

Critic Reviews

The Soho House New York — not to be confused with SoHo, the neighborhood — is a members-only club that caters to the film and media industries. The Meatpacking district locale also has 30 luxury hotel hotel rooms — Small, Medium and Big — that are open to the public.

New York Magazine

The first rule of Soho House is don't talk about Soho House. Given the amount of attention dedicated by gossips and media bloggers, you’d think this members-only British import was shrouded with the secrecy of a fight club or Skull & Bones society. While membership acceptance policies still carry a sense of intrigue, plebeians can plunk down a chunk of change for a temporary entrée into high society.

The New York Times

Unlike the old-line men's clubs, which discourage talking business, the newer ones promote networking, book parties and cliquishness. Women are encouraged to join. They have a reputation for smoky, drinky evenings that sometimes make the tabloids.
