A great hotel in Luxot

Jan 18th, 2020

Sonesta St George hotel is one of the best hotels in Luxor. Exceptional location with one of the best Nile views. Totally renovated with excellent rooms and bathrooms (would strongly recommend the front Nile view rooms) with a broad panoramic view of the Nile. A large heated swimming pool and probably the largest Nile terrace in Luxor. An experienced and professional staff that do their best to make you enjoy your stay. Sonesta definitely ranks among the top quality hotels in a luxor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay

Jan 17th, 2020

I have been to this hotel twice over the last year, I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Luxor, perfect location with a panoramic view of the nile river, so close to the city center (about 10 minute-walk), food is very good all over the day, polite staff, clean rooms only missing free Wifi within. I felt so relaxed in these two stays and I am looking forward to visiting the hotel more times. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No free Wi-Fi

Jan 13th, 2020

The hotel is very nice-looking and clean, and the room was a very generous size. It's also got a great location on the main road that's about a 15-minute walk south of Luxor Temple, a 20-minute walk from the public ferry, and about a 1-hour walk to Karnak. The main reason this hotel misses out on a 5-star experience is the Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is free in the lobby, but you need to go up a flight of stairs to the business center and ask for a card with a code on it. That code then is only good for 3 days. There are also zero available power outlets in the lobby, so make sure your device is charged if you're going down there to use the Internet. If you want Wi-Fi in your room, it's LE 200 per day (~12 USD) PER DEVICE. There's something of a discount for a weeklong pass, but it was cheaper for me to buy high-speed data for my phone and then spin up a hotspot in the hotel room. This was such a deeply annoying inconvenience, I considered rating this hotel only 3 stars. The hair dryer is also terrible. It's huge apparatus with a hose that provides a weak, cool airstream. So if you've got long/thick hair, get comfy standing in front of the vanity. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
