I stayed at South Beach Plaza 2 nights last November with 5 friends (2 rooms booked). I checked in at 1 in the night, after 6 hours spent with the police due to an accident I had driving back from Key West. Pics attached in order to understand how the room (310) has been found. In addition to its old and extremely dirty condition, the 1 square meter bathroom had no window and no aspirator. The only way to refresh the air was to keep the door open between the bathroom and the bedroom. Can you imagine the smell we could share with 4 of us in the room? I'm sure it is not even legal! I tried to turn on the light in the storage closet and the bulb blew (I could see blow smoke!). Most of the plugs were destroyed and we were not able to charge our phones. Hair dryer was not working and many electric cables were dangerously emerging from the device. In the other room (319) the main problem was the air condition: the noise was so intense my friends were not able to sleep! I asked the receptionist to change our rooms but he couldn't help that late in the night. 9 in the morning, my friends and I have been brusquely woken up by the housekeeper, she hardly knocked our door twice. I asked her to come back in one hour (we were going out for a tour) but she couldn't understand me: she could speak Spanish only! I spoke with the receptionist once again, asking to fix the issues (window, bulb, hair dryer, plugs, .......) and to clean our room before 6pm, when we were coming back from the Everglades. Before leaving at noon I told again to the receptionist to speak with the housekeeper in order to find our room clean at 6pm, and I said twice the room number: 310! We went finally back at 6:15pm, tired after a long tour and dirty as never due to the rain. The window in the bathroom was open!! But the room was exactly the same as when we left it!! 4 towels on the floor, both beds unmade. Bulb and plugs not fixed. Air condition in my friends' room (319) was not fixed as well! The receptionist told me it was my fault: I said to the housekeeper not to clean my room and I just wanted shampoo!!! Are you kidding me?? I asked for a different room but he answered no room was available. After one hour, I was furious, he offered to me a room at the first floor but the room had no window and no aspirator. I could just accept fresh towels but he didn't provide the housekeeper in my room! I wanted to speak with a manager but she was not in. At the check out (11am) the general manager was not in hotel yet. We left both the rooms. I came back around 2pm and I had the chance to speak with "someone" in charge of customer satisfaction. I told her everything about the past 2 days. I showed her all the pics. First, I was accused of not accepting the receptionist's offer (regarding the room on the first floor). Then she apologized and she asked me to send an email. I asked her to help us giving a courtesy room to have a shower before flying back to Italy (I said it was for less than one hour only). But she said I had to ask to the receptionist, and she left. I couldn't believe it: SHE LEFT WITHOUT EVEN SAY BYE!!! I went to the receptionist asking for the courtesy room and he answered he had to ask for Venecia's authorization (!!). He left me on hold around 30 minutes, after that he said: NOT POSSIBLE, SORRY. In front of my astonished face he replied: IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO GO! Hotel management replied my email 2 months later, just saying they did the best for us. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Average hotel centrally located

Nothing much in this hotel. If your looking for a bed and breakfast kind of place close to the beach, then you can stay here. Very small room, no electric kettle if you want hot water, no common coffee/tea in lobby like other hotels. Breakfast is served in the bar area and starts only at 7:30am which is very late for a hotel situated in the US. Not enough place to sit and have breakfast have to make do in the lobby which means trays on your laps. No hot breakfast which means not even hot milk or eggs. Limited spread too. Room is cleaned every day and is neat. If your not spending too much time in this hotel, then its ok. If your particular of a hot morning coffee in bed, then I would not recommend this place. Fantastic Location

Older building but the rooms are clean. Complimentary breakfast a little skimpy. No indoor tables to eat breakfast just outside tables. Nice staff. Hotel is in a great location. It is across from Walgreens and one block from the beach. Plenty of restaurants within one-two blocks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Everyone was very helpful in recepción, Mariana ,José, Ingrid and the concierge Thank you. Only the middle aged woman in the breakfast was not nice at all. The room was very spacious with a king size bed and space to organize your luggage during the stay. Centrally located, Lincoln Road was just a 7 min walk. Also buses and public transportation were at hand. I really recommend this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

South Beach Value

Very good value in the heart of South Beach. Walk to everything from this upscale boutique hotel. Towels were available at front desk for the beach a block away, very cool. Bartender at a hip restaurant downstairs cuprum made some amazing cocktails. Food was great, view of the SB circus unfolds before your eyes from the patio. Room was spacuious and had what we needed.
