Safe, Easy Stay
Oct 4th, 2020
We were traveling home to visit family and had to drive this time instead of fly due to COVID. So, that meant one night in a hotel. I recently stopped chemotherapy and my immune system is not 100% yet, so we were nervous. My husband called ahead of time and asked if there was any way we could have a room that no one had stayed in for a night or two. Divinity at the front desk was most helpful and understanding. She was there when we checked in and she was very kind and able to accommodate our request. The common areas were clean and the room was clean and quiet. We felt comfortable staying there. We had no problems or concerns during our stay and we would recommend this property to others. Thank you, Marriott, for helping to get us home to see our family! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice stay. The hotel was quite and we didn't get our room cleaned everyday by choice, when I did ask for the bed to be turned they did a great job and they always brought fresh towels. We had no issues during our stay. We had two teenagers, one 16 the other 18 and left her in Fayette, MO to attend college. There is a QT, White Castle, Home Depo, Taco Bell and Burger King within walking distance. Hotel was not serving their usual morning breakfast due to COVID. That was a bummer and not the hotels fault. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Pretty good but needs work

When booking in advance for a family of four and requesting linens for the sofa bed, I expect to have a full set of linens. There was no top sheet and no pillow case and the blanket seemed old and a bit ratty (very pilled from washings). Also, only 3 bath towels. This is their largest room, I believe. It potentially could sleep 6. So 3 towels is just annoying. Pull-out sofa is a trundle kind of thing, and in addition to not having any mattress cover, there was a drinking straw and crumb near the front edge of it, and it looked like the floor hadn’t been cleaned under it. There was some sticky/greasy substance on the bathroom door and a large fabric ottoman needed cleaning. This is a ‘suite’ but don’t expect anything beyond a small room fridge and maybe a microwave. This is a newer property and I expect more cleaning and attention to detail. Beds were reasonably comfortable, sheets were decent. Major design flaw: large pocket door to the bathroom with a huge frosted pane of glass in it about 3 feet from the beds. No nightlight in bath, only bright light. So if you get up in middle of night to use it, other room occupants get a big dose of light through that glass. The shower is nice-ish with new fixtures and a plastic surround that looks remarkably close to a real modern tile and grout—a pretty impressive product. But ruined by the small pink areas of mildew at the bottom corners. Paul Mitchell individual bath products and the ubiquitous horrible midwestern soft water that makes it impossible to wash off soap. There was a Covid notice on the door to the lobby about required face coverings but this is MO so many of the guests weren’t wearing masks. Staff was masked and friendly. Plenty of sanitizer bottles in lobby. No signs of coffee in the AM (safety issue, possibly) and the ‘covid bkfst bags’ at the lobby were a bottle of water, apple or banana, and nutrigrain bar. Remote check-in and phone-as-key available through the Bonvoy app. So you can be totally contact-free if you want. Luggage carts available in lobby. Very accessible from I-70. If they get on top of some of the cleaning and room prep issues, we would stay there again. Otherwise, we overpaid a bit at $119. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Family trip during Covid health crisis. Frankly I don’t care how little Covid is in your county, people are traveling across states. No reminders about wearing masks. Signage was sparse. Coffee in the morning was communal and ran out by 7 am. No one around to refill. In our room, the toilet seat was dangerously loose and one of the bedside lights was out. The cables on the tv were loose and the picture went out often. Marriott can do better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Spend approximately 6 nights a year in a Columbia hotel. Thought we’d try the Springhill Suites for the first time. Never again. My main criteria for a hotel in CoMo is 3+ star ranking, cleanliness and a hot shower. I would say the Sunday morning shower was lukewarm at best. Unacceptable, especially since the hotel didn’t seem that busy. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
