Great Staff/Poor Amenities
Nov 12th, 2020
G. Parker, front desk receptionist provided friendly and outstanding customer service. She should be a manager because she was there by herself the majority of our 2 night stay. Pool and hot tub not finished. No TVs in lobby. Breakfast ok. Few staff on duty not wearing masks. Carry your own Lysol and wipes which I do for hotel stays. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
We felt unsafe to stay here during Covid
Oct 27th, 2020
1. The front desk lady pulled down her mask when talking to us. When my husband passed the front desk twice, she was not wearing a mask. 2. One lady working at the breakfast station doesn't know how to wear a mask. 3. Guests at the breakfast did not observe social distancing. If you let people talk, laugh, and cough while eating in the lobby with their masks off, why do you bother asking people to wear masks? I consider this totally unsafe and poses danger to those who do not want to be involved but have to walk through the lobby (masks are not perfect and people's eyes are still exposed.) 4. The extra sheets for the sofa bed were dirty. The sofa was very uncomfortable to sit in. We didn’t try the sofa bed. 5. Video on Marriott website about Covid claims that there will be disinfecting wipes in the room. None could be found. 6. No one was at the front desk when we were leaving, so we thought we would check out on the app or by phone and left. This function was not available on the app, so we called. For two hours, we called 7 times during 2.5 hours, the phone always says "please enter your voice mail number", before a staff member finally answered. I left chat messages on the app as well, no one replied for 2.5 hours. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Marriott is loosing poor room terrible service

Details of our visit to the Springhill Suites, located at One Jay R. Turner Dr. Savannah, just off of I-95. We reserved a one night stay on September 24, 2020 in a 2 queen bed room. When we arrived at around 6 pm, there was a young man named Hiram working at the desk. He was very pleasant and checked us in. I asked if there was an upgrade available and he said yes. He then went on to add that it would cost a little more. I said no, we were asking if there was an upgrade because we were titanium elite and that if it was available there should be no charge. He told me that he was new at that so wasn’t sure how to do that. At that time I said to not bother we were fine and would just stay in the room we reserved. In his desire to please he said he was going to ask another person how to do the request. I repeated we were fine but he said he would like to take care of this for us. This is when a woman that I recognized from previous visits came out. I remember her and another woman that very much looks like her for several reasons. The first being that they never seem to wear a name tag. The second because of how brusque and rude they have been. On each of the previous times these two women were the ones working the front desk. This was the third and last time we will ever deal with either of these women. This woman then proceed to look at the computer and said the upgrade would be more money. I said no thank you. We were just wondering because we were titanium elite and just asked as part of our benefits if it was available. She then told me WE do not get an upgrade, I must add it was quite hostile. I then said well it would be part of our benefits because we are titanium elite. She told me again, no YOU don’t get the upgrade. I then asked for her name. She ignored my request and said I should call corporate Marriott and check what my benefits were. I said I know what they are. If she didn’t she should call, if I call she will not like it. I then asked for her name again. She once again ignored me and walked to another part of the desk. At this time I raised my voice and said what is your name. She told me that I needed to stop yelling or she would call the airport police. That airport police comment made no sense to me. I said I raised my voice because I felt she must not have heard me ask since I had asked several times and she didn’t answer me. I thought perhaps it was because I had my mask on and she couldn’t hear me. She then said if I didn’t stop yelling (I was not raising my voice at all) she would have me removed by the police. She then got on the phone. I turned to poor Hiram who was very upset by all of this and said please just finish checking us in with what we reserved. I will call Marriott and discuss this directly. He proceeded to do that. At this time this woman interrupted us and said she had her manager on the phone and he wanted to speak with me. I took the phone and said I would like the name of the woman I was working with. He started to speak and I interrupted him and said I just want her name. He told me her name was Nene, I asked him to spell it. At that time I said I didn’t have anything else to talk with him about and said good bye. I handed Nene the phone back. As I finished working with Hiram, Nene hung up the phone, looked directly at me and laughed. Then she walked away. When we got into our room I called the toll free number for reservations and filed a complaint. Needless to say it was all extremely upsetting and I spent the rest of the night very distressed. I cancelled our future reservation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Don’t stay here!
Jul 25th, 2020
Keep driving. Do not stay here! Because of COVID, I keep disinfecting wipes in my purse. When traveling, I wipe down the hotel rooms that we stay in with the disinfecting wipes, because I want to be careful, as my husband is older. As I entered the bathroom, I found that the seat had old pee on it & a piece of poo in the toilet. Ugh- disgusting!!! 😡 I had to use the bathroom after our long drive, so I wiped the seat down with my disinfecting wipe carefully 😱. When I told my husband, he asked if I wanted to change rooms. I said no, because my thought was - the next room will probably not be any cleaner, and at least I know that I disinfected this one! I did ask for new towels. My only worry now is - did they actually clean the sheets? We surely won’t be having breakfast here. Can’t wait till morning. My husband informed the front desk - no discount was offered. My Family and I were extremely Disappointed with the Spring Hill Suites in Georgetown GA (Savannah area). I understand the hotel was having some construction on the 1st floor & pool area. Sadly this was discovered when checking in. Pool remodel in July is questionable to me. Our room was on the 2nd floor, that reeked of cigarettes, the hall floors were not vacvumed prior to our arrival on 7/17 nor our check out on 7/19. Our room wasn't very clean nor had it been vaccumed either. Wall paper had construction dust & hand prints all over it. The Paul Mitchell amenities in the shower & bathroom were not restocked prior to our check in, nor was refilled during our stay. Saturday morning, we were awoken to a sickening stench so bad I called the front desk. The stench returned (not as bad) but again early Sunday morning. I don't believe the stench is hotel related, but the ventilation of the hotel should be checked if outside stench is coming into the hotel. The front desk staff was extremely friendly, and needs recognition. Its the Hotel MGT that needs to refocus, as they are tarnishing the Spring Hill Suites Brand of quality that My Family have grown accustomed to. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
