Thin Walls

Oct 1st, 2020

I write this as I lay here listening to the people next door talk at 12:20am. Very thin walls! Highly annoying. Convenient location, clean room, welcoming staff. Unfortunately, the thin walls are a dealbreaker for me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean and Compliant for Remote e-Learning

Sep 27th, 2020

Since the kiddos are all remote learning, we started our cross-country trek West, with the first pitstop in Sioux Falls. SpringHill Suites was decided from a list of options, which included the Hampton Inn Southwest, Best Western Empire, and Sheraton (Convention Center). We picked the SpringHill Suites for its location (as we were coming from the north/I-90) and the need for two large rooms for e-Learning during morning/afternoon. First, I was pleasantly pleased with how modern looking and clean the facilities were. From the ample signage to all employees wearing masks. Next, the breakfast area was very good in a COVID world. Food was distributed by personnel. All self-service items were either pre-wrapped, like the toast and Nutella packets or contained, like the coffee/juice machine. Also the pool was open, but limited. In all, very clean and compliant, which we had as a priority. The receptionists weren't very personable but did a fine job checking us in and out. The afternoon team was very nice to my young one in saying hi and bye. I would recommnend this place for business and families. Having two rooms is definately a must here for families of 4 or larger, but one room could be managable for an overnight stop. Tip: To get to the hotel, you'll have to exit the highway and turn into the Empire Mall's boulevard. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great place to stay

Sep 19th, 2020

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. This was our halfway point for our trip so we appreciated the easy access to the highway and local restaurants. We'd definitely stay here again.. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good Covid-era stay

Aug 14th, 2020

We stayed for 2 nights in early August. This was our first hotel stay in the Covid era and we were pleased with what we experienced at this location. All employees we saw were wearing masks and there were signs reminding guests that masks were required in the public areas of the hotel. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and had plenty of suggestions for thing we could safely do around town. The room was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is in a busy area so if you want a quiet room, be sure to ask. It is basically in the parking lot of the mall so convenient for shopping and restaurants. We had dinner at the nearby restaurant called Roam and it was excellent. It was nice that breakfast was still offered as I found many hotels aren't offering that at this time. The woman serving the hot items was very friendly. All cold items were packaged individually although there were still shared items like a toaster, juice dispensers, etc. The dining area was pretty crowded the first morning (a Saturday) which made us somewhat uncomfortable as people were lingering over breakfast without masks on. We took our breakfast back to our room the second morning which was a better choice for us. We would stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Friendly staff

Aug 9th, 2020

I like staying at SpringHill Suites because the hotels are usually newer. This one is an older property that shows some signs of wear but the staff is super friendly. We were welcomed by a man and a woman at the front desk. They offered us lollipops, asked what we are doing in town, offered maps and suggestions. They were so welcoming. The room is large with two queen beds and a trundle bed (it functions as a single sofa bed). The room could be renovated. I found the shower extremely slippery. Free breakfast included egg, meat, cereal, coffee. The hotel is by a large mall so there is shopping and food nearby. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
