Not Great at All

I stay at Marriott properties over 125 nights a year. This hotel is outdated and the front desk staff is a little bit snooty. Not amazing after traveling 5+ hours. I want to be greeted better. I used an ‘upgrade’ certificate to a fair room with a great view of the bay. I would try finding a different hotel. Pictures are of ‘fitness’ center. Awful. Sorry guys. I hate writing bad reviews. Comfortable but not great

We stayed here the night before our Caribbean cruise out of Galveston. The hotel is conveniently located just as you enter Galveston Island. Our room was clean and large enough. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom needed an upgrade. Some of the floor tiles were cracked and the shower was an ancient fiberglas unit. The room did have a decent bar area with refrigerator that was convenient. Our room had no view but that didnt bother me since we were about to see plenty of ocean on our cruise. Great place, great pool but NO breakfast

I’ve stayed here quite often, it’s my favorite pool. I wish they had breakfast but that hasn’t stopped me from staying. The management is responsive to needs and request. One thing is I wish they had their handicap life maintained more often since my family member was not able to enter pool. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not great

We were visiting our daughter in Houston and decided to do an overnight in Galveston. The app notifies us that our room was ready so we went there to check in. When we arrived they told us only one room was ready. I said the app told my my rooms were ready. The check in person said “well only one room is ready”. She seemed put out to have to deal with me. Once the second room became available we checked in and went to our rooms. When we got to our room my keys didn’t work. I went back down to the desk and they shrugged when I told them and recoded the keys. This time one key worked but the other didn’t. We went back down and she made a face and recoded the one key again. The air condoning at this hotel is pretty loud. Not good for light sleepers. The room was clean and everything else was ok. Needs some gentle care

We stayed here for the balcony that overlooks the water. It has that but it also has a vent that is putting out warm air right there also. Made sitting outside enjoying the night not so enjoyable. As a family of 5 we also booked the room for the sofa bed. Yuck. Discolored and no way my son was sleeping on that. It needs some gentle care and better air outlets for us to return.
