It is nice hotel with many perks and nice, friendly people

Jun 19th, 2019

CORPUS CHRISTI STAYBRIDGE This Staybridge suites hotel has 84 units. We stayed in this hotel two times, each more than a month, in the winter of 2018-2019. We had a suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is also a kitchen with a stove top and a living room. The fitness room had two running treadmills, one elliptical treadmill, one bicycle, one power stand that was almost always out of order. There is a full kit of dumbbells and a bench. There is a scale that doesn't show a consistent weight (fluctuates by 20-30 lb). There is no barbell and no pull up bar. There is a TV set, and the room is at a nice temperature to work out. There are cleaning wipes for hands and equipment, and you are required to clean equipment after use. The bathroom has no night light. The light and fan are operated from the same switch, which is inconvenient at night. The water pressure in the showers is low. There are no assistance bars in the bathtub, although it says on the reservation description that there is. There is a basketball court outside of the windows and when people play ball at night it is hard to sleep. We stayed on the first floor. When there are guests on the second floor, every their step and word is hear as clear as it is in our room. There is plenty of room in the closets. There are very useful perks, such as free WiFi, free parking, free breakfast, free social dinner with a drink on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, free laundry, free fitness room, and free beverages all day. People know about this and this hotel is almost always full. The front desk, housekeeping, and kitchen staff are very nice and friendly. They are always trying to satisfy every request. We felt at home with the hotel staff. I would recommend this hotel to everybody. We are planning to go there for the next winter season and stay there the whole winter. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pleasant stay, clean rooms, free hot breakfast and social hour

Jun 18th, 2019

We stayed at the Staybridge for a week on business. It is located about halfway between downtown Corpus Christi and the beach. An easy 10-12 minute commute downtown and a quick drive to the beach. There is an Outback and a Cracker Barrel Restaurant within walking distance (same block) and an HEB grocery store nearby. Plenty of things to do within a few minutes drive. The rooms were comfortable and clean with a refrigerator, microwave, stove top (no oven), dishwasher, desk, and small sofa. The hotel is pet friendly and has a small pet walk on the side of the hotel. There’s only one elevator in the middle of the building (so if you need easy access, avoid rooms on either end/wing). There are 4 floors and the easiest access for pets would be first floor (room 124 for example). We stayed in 301 which is on the far end but near stairs so it worked for us. Our room faced Oakhurst and Tiger Ln and had lots of natural light during the day. The front-desk staff (especially Erika) was great! Pros: convenient, clean, friendly front desk, kid-friendly, basketball court, pool, grills, fire pit, comfy beds, kitchenette, free hot breakfast, free social hour with beer and wine and free food (e.g. wings and a salad bar) Mon-Weds Cons: you can hear noises and footsteps from floors above TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Moldy room

Jun 9th, 2019

Moldy room and poor customer service by front office staff (Jay). Upon checkin this evening we notified the front office staff that we needed to make sure our room was clean and mold free because of respiratory health issues of a family member. We were told that the rooms were always cleaned to the same level. Upon entering the room we found mold in the shower as well on bathroom walls and ceiling. When hotel staff came to investigate we were told that the room was occupied for two weeks prior to us so they were unable to clean the room because they didn't have time. They just changed the linens and took out the trash. So that means that is their standard level of cleanliness to let a customer stay in. When we went to complain and say we were no longer going to stay at this location we were told we wouldn't be getting a refund because they couldn't reserve the room to anyone else now that we were in it. So therefore, even with the knowledge of the mold they had every intention on letting someone stay in that room. We were luckily able to get a refund for the night through the corporate office and left a detailed complaint with them as well. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pros and cons

Mar 27th, 2019

Pros: nice bed and bedding. Free washer and dryer--4 of each. Cons: seemed a bit overpriced at $190. Very hard to get my laptop to work with their internet. Had to call an 800 number to Asia, which the desk clerk recommended, to figure it out. I travel a lot and have never had such a difficult time using motel internet. Few breakfast room chairs and tables, so my wife and I had to balance our breakfasts on a sofa. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Family Spring Break

Mar 16th, 2019

Really nice hotel with very friendly staff. This is near the main hotel area with lots of restaurants and conveniences nearby. You are about 15 minutes to downtown Corpus and the North beach with no traffic. We experienced heavy traffic and it was about 25 minutes. Other than the Radisson, the hotels on the beach are not as nice so you'll probably be better off finding something up by hotel row. This hotel had an outdoor pool and hot tub and a sports court. They have a really good breakfast, more like Embassy Suites quality. M-W is a managers reception which had so much food we made our dinner out of that one night. Hotel staff is friendly.
