Great location

Oct 10th, 2019

The location is right across Tx Tech campus. Walking distance to the football stadium which was one of the reasons we were in town. The hotel was clean, reception was efficient and the rooms are roomy. We had a queen bed in our room but we booked sort of late. It was still comfortable. Rooms have a full fridge, cool top, dishes etc so you could cook if you wanted. We’d stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Parent’s Weekend

Oct 6th, 2019

This was our only choice of booking anything in town because we waited too long to reserve a room. Not bad. A recent remodel of our room was nice. Full kitchen. Decent bed. The bath area could use updating. The bathroom door is hung incorrectly and inconveniently closes while trying to use the area. Floor was dirty in the bath. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Most satisfactory

Surprisingly, there are two Staybridges in Lubbock. (The other one is called Staybridge South.) So be sure you show up at the one where you made the reservation! This one is exceedingly affordable, older and a tad dark, with a creaky elevator, but spotlessly clean. It's close to the Texas Tech University campus on 19th street, which is VERY busy. This is pickup-truck country, and mufflers appear to be optional. So be sure to ask for a room NOT facing the busy boulevard! This Staybridge actually has an overhang (or porte cochere) for loading and unloading, which is a rare amenity for this chain. Very helpful in West Texas sun, thunderstorms, and winter snow. The room kitchens are excellently stocked with nice plates, etc., silverware, sharp knives, pots and pans. This hotel has just three or so rooms with two beds, so if that's your preference, book early. The rest are quite comfortable super-king-size sets the size of the Great Plains. Breakfasts in the dining room are pretty standard; suggest you get there before 9, as the pickings can be slim between then and closing time at 9:30. Two nice Staybridge amenities are in play, of course: free laundry (here, on TWO different floors with plenty of large, functioning machines), and evening "socials" with free grub, beer, etc. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Usually we blow it by landing at a Staybridge the OTHER days, but we caught one social this time. Overall, this is a good bargain. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Convenient to Texas Tech campus

Sep 18th, 2019

Right across the street from campus, the rooms are equipped with small kitchenette with 2 burner ceramic range and full size refrigerator. Roomy with sofa/ottomans, good sized working desk and comfortable bed with great pillows/comforter. Great AC and wifi. Exercise room and medium sized outdoor pool. Common area very comfortable with better than average breakfast choices and good coffee. Evening happy hour with daily themed snacks/eats and beer/wine TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Staybad suites

Sep 16th, 2019

First impression of this place. Its actually not to bad. The issues this place has is purely management related. They have gas grills like most if not all extended stay hotels. 1 of them looks like it was dragged up from the ocean. The entire bottom is rusted out. It is literally scrap iron that has a hose feeding gas to it. The other 1 is a bit better but will be in the same state soon. Went down to front desk to talk about getting the utensils. Front desk person not very educated on their own property. I said man your gas grill is horrible. "Is it? I never go out there I have no idea" Challenged them to go out there and look. They were embarrassed. The real kicker we borrowed the utensil set. Most places tell you to return it when your done. They will take care of the rest. The only thing we used was a spatula, upon taking the set to the front desk. My wife handed it to the front desk person and the spatula separately. They ask her to take it to our room, wash it then bring it back. That was a 1st and we have been traveling since 96. Next day go to business center both computers have a paper saying out of order on them. Go to front desk get them to print out some of what we needed. I stated both your computers are broken. I don't know why you advertise you have a business center. Same person I delt with regarding the grills. "1 of them works". No they both have out of order paper tapped on them. That is why we came and had you print stuff out for us earlier. Those 2 computers are only about 20ft from the front desk and they don't even know they are out of order. Their pool and hot tub was dirty with lots of leaves floating around on both as well as dirt and grit on the bottom. In the courtyard area they have 1 of those flame pits with peebles for guest to sit around and socialize. No gas tank to use it, me and another guest looked to see if we could lite it. Propane hose just dangling, un hooked, no gas tank and tons of cob webs. Shows me that its not looked after. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
