Beautiful rooms and views

Sep 20th, 2019

We had a room with a king-sized bed, jacuzzi, balcony overlooking the mountains and ski trails, fireplace and so much more. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very nice. We loved our stay. Pros: bottled water delivered twice a day; chocolates delivered at turn down service; lots of storage in rooms, plenty of closet space and drawers; views; room size; bathroom size. Cons: There were a few minor things that would not prevent us from staying again, but took it down a star. The mini fridge was too big for the cabinet so we hand to shove and pull to get the door opened each time. There are LOTS of stairs to get from your room to lobby or restaurants; the TV system was a constant battle; have to call for room service to get ice (but they do bring it promptly!) Fantastic and relaxing girl's weekend with great friends!

Sep 20th, 2019

Over the weekend of September 7th I was privileged to spend a wonderful weekend at the Stein with some of my dearest friends. We started the adventure off with valet service for our car and we checked in to our amazing room. It was beautiful and cozy!! I wanted to stay forever. Our suite had comfortable couches in front of the fireplace and the view out the window was extraordinary. We took note of the hot tub on the balcony and made sure to use it that evening. We set off for lunch by the pool. I had the best chocolate shake! and the cheese fries were to die for! After filling our bellies we headed off to the spa for services. The spa was so cozy and relaxing. We were greeted by staff and taken to the locker room to change into plush robes and slippers. While we waited for our treatment we enjoyed the mountain views and citrus water. I was almost disappointed when the therapist came to collect me. The CBD oil massage was amazing. The 80 mins just flew by and i was so relaxed. It was fantastic. After the massage we were able to enjoy the spa's hot tub and sauna. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and the staff at the spa was so kind to put together a little gift for her. AND... when we returned to our room there was a selection of beautiful pastries. We had a wonderful evening that was complimented by the most amazing Sunday brunch that I have ever seen! Never before have i seen so many delicious foods all in one place. There were so many things to choose from that I could have eaten there for a week straight. I ate myself sick and it was worth every calorie and every gym workout that I will need to do to burn those calories. The waffles were so fluffy and they melted in your mouth. The french toast... wonderful. Everything was perfect! I told my husband to plan on going there for our anniversary. Definitely will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect for a special occasion!

Aug 26th, 2019

As a husband with a wonderful wife who manages to pull nearly every facet of a family of 5 together on the daily, her birthday needs to be something special, above and beyond the normal "Thank You's" and "We Appreciate You's". The Stein and it's wonderful host of amenities is the perfect option! We arranged to have friends arrive early in our room and then accompany my wife to the pool for an afternoon of swimming, dining and drinks poolside followed by a reception in our suite. In the end, she was surprised, delighted and her friends raved about the experience! Exemplary service and the perfect mountain setting had us planning our next visit to the lodge before we left! “The” Spot in Deer Valley

Aug 18th, 2019

I’ve stayed at Stein several times along with trips to The Chateaux and Montage. Stein is by far the best. Last trip we had a 4 bedroom with loft and private deck hot tub. Truly remarkable. Keep in mind that each room is privately owned and furnished so accommodations can vary but they are generally all very spacious with awesome views. They are really more like homes. As far as skiing set up it doesn’t get any better. Warning if you take your kids you will never take them skiing anywhere else again they will be so spoiled. The ski rental has only top line equipment. No lines and your set up in minutes. You walk out the back door and your on the slopes. You come off deer valley and they greet you with hot chocolate, take your boots off for you, store your equipment and put your boots on dryers. The lobby bar/restaurant has its on lift with direct access and the best after skiing scene in park city. Always can find a good time. This is my favorite prestige mountain and lodging in the US. The Spa is killer. Great for families, couples or business trips. One note is the hotel does a terrible job with photos of the rooms. You can’t tell what your really getting. Trust me it’s way better in person. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

After 20 years of staying here, won’t be back.

Aug 15th, 2019

The Stein Eriksen used to be my favorite place to stay at Deer Valley but not anymore. Just hasn’t kept up with what guests should expect from a “5 star” resort. Sunday brunch is still great but rest of services, especially in the summer, are understaffed and over priced. Took over an hour to check in because we’d upgraded our room but then found neither the hot tub on the deck nor the jacuzzi tub in the room operated properly. Want ice? Expect to wait an hour for room service to deliver it to you (no self serve option), Want a bag of SunChips or a quick deli snack, no options for that either without taking a major hike down to ski/bike area and hope something is open or drive off the hill down to Deer Valley Cafe (and that means spending over 1/2 hour getting your car out of and back into valet. Have been staying here both summer and winter, even though Used to be a PC resident but think this trip will be our last to SE. Everyone in our business group who is here for a board retreat felt same way.. would rather be at The Montage or even somewhere in town like Hotel Park City than stuck up here with no services. Last year pool the was under construction, nosy and annoying this year, everything is blocked off for repainting. Worst part is I complained to multiple staff members and they all agreed summertime service sucks here...they were just as frustrated as I was. But no one offered to correct any of the issues I brought up. Had to call housekeeping twice I two days. had to call to get service to fix our leaky tub and shower. After 20 years of visits, I’d say it is just not worth it anymore. Upgrade and get with the times and expectations of your guests. or change your policies, Stein (who was our neighbor for years) would not approve. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
