Sometimes new is not better.

The new Seaview is nice with plenty of amenities, but they lost some of the historic charm. I will continue to use it, but the feeling and experience is not the same. The staff was wonderful, and the food was good. I wish I could have used the pool, but I did not want to get in the very cold elevator after swimming. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Historic Elegance, New-Fashioned Comfort

I attended a conference at the Seaview, for which this property is perfect -- besides a selection of over 250 single rooms there are beautiful suites for private gatherings and meetings, ballrooms for keynote presentations and group banquets, breakout and meeting rooms, bar and dance floor, a business center with computers and printers, fully professional yet friendly and thoughtful staff, and lots of either valet or self-parking. Also a fitness center, both indoor and outdoor pools, trails for walking, and a golf course. But what sets this hotel apart from modern conference centers is its ambiance. Built in 1914 as an elegant golf club's hotel, this has always been a special place. Presidents have stayed here. Grace Kelly's parents held her sweet sixteen party here. Its hallways are lined with old photos and contemporary art that made me reflect on the creative meetings, the business deals, and momentous connections that were made here. Great historic hotel

Wonderful hotel with lots of charm and history! I didn't use the golf course but it looks nice. The large dining room is impressive. Nice location to Atlantic City Airport were I was working, easy parking. My coworkers and I used the bar for drinks and food nightly, it was a great place to hangout, chat and watch some sports. Seaview, A Dolce Hotel

Stayed here for a night after attending my wife’s Coast Guard graduation ceremony. Property was stunning, staff were kind and efficient, room was awesome... cleanliness of the bed however, was that of a motel 6 due to the sheets being soiled with what looked very strikingly like bodily fluids. Ended up sleeping atop the blanket with the heat on so we wouldn’t be on the sheets, was very disappointing that one of the most important aspects of a luxury hotel was skimped out on. Would love to recommend the hotel for what it is and offers, but this big slip-up makes me lose all confidence and makes me wonder... are there are cleaninless issues in other area of the hotel like the kitchen, ice machines, or was just an isolated incident? If you are going to stay here though I would just be wary and be sure to check out the bed/linens once you go check into the room, rather than right before bed like we learned the hard way. Poor Service and Paper Thin Walls

Upon arrival, I was disappointed. The hotel looked nice, but upon trying to check-in at the front desk is where all the trouble began. First, the woman at the front desk could not get our name right, no matter how much we repeated ourselves. When she finally "found us" in your system, she just said "oh, I was under a different reservation." She then asked "are you here for the wedding," to which we responded yes. She gave us a bag provided by the bride and groom. She then asked for a credit card and swiped the card and handed it back. Without being told what it was swiped for, I asked if she just charged my card for the stay or if was just for incidentals. She responded for incidentals and that our card would be charged at the conclusion of the stay. The woman then proceeded to ask us if we had an itinerary for the wedding to which we responded no. She shows us a sheet of paper with two wedding parties listed and starts telling us the itinerary for the wrong wedding. When we let her know we're actually with the other party, she just says "oh, well then I need that back" and proceeds to grab it from my hand. At this point, she starts walking us a few steps down the hall to show us where the elevator is and says "check out is tomorrow at 11:00." I quickly respond confused saying "we should be checking out on Sunday." She goes back to the computer and checks our reservation and says "yes, Sunday." As me and the other guest staying in our room begin walking away to head upstairs, we're both very frustrated and annoyed by the first experience walking into the hotel. The front desk agent was rude, and simply just didn't know what she was talking about. Upon arriving in our room, we get a call from the front desk - we assume it'll be her telling us that she put us in the wrong room (under the other wedding room block) - but it's actually her calling to say "That bag actually was yours. You can grab it from the front desk whenever you come down again." WOW! You aggressively take that back from my hands and then call 5 minutes later to not even apologize, but rather just tell me that I can pick it up next time I'm down? An apology would've been nice and sending someone up to our room to bring it to us would've been how I'd expect this type of situation to go, but again, I was let down. We had a rehearsal dinner that night, so we began to shower and get ready. One of the three towels that we're hanging in the bathroom had makeup (it looked like foundation a TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
