Been coming to this motel at least once every year for the last 10 years and have never been disappointed!

Aug 13th, 2020

The Super 8 in Old Saybrook is located across the street from a large shopping center including a supermarket with a take out restaurant. Next door is an Italian restaurant; one of the best I've ever eaten in! The location is marvelous as the town center is only a few miles and the town's public beach, as well. The staff here at the Super 8 is always friendly, courteous, welcoming and warm. The housekeeping staff sees to the immaculate condition of every room. There is a pool which unfortunately was closed due to COVID 19 but the staff can't be held responsible for this. I have recommended the Old Saybrook Super 8 to friends and work colleagues as well many many times. I wouldn't recommend any place that I wouldn't be happy to stay myself. Thanks again to the Super 8 staff for a wonderful stay. We'll be seeing you again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disgusting Motel

Jul 28th, 2020

This is my first and last time staying at this roadside motel. My car broke down on the interstate right by the motel so I had no choice but to stay there. My room reeked of smoke, the highway noise was incredible. People outside drinking and smoking, loud music, doors slamming. I called the desk several times and NO ONE did anything. The pool is closed, the Breakfast was not even edible. I cannot believe this motel is even taking guests during this pandemic, they need to be shut down. I have already lodges a complaint with Wyndam Hotels. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very good for the price

Jan 26th, 2020

The room was nice, quiet, and clean. Service was efficient. Only problem is they started installing solar panels in the AM well before checkout, which in my case, and I'm sure a few others, deprived me of an hour and a half of much desired sleep. I'd assume when your main business goal is providing sleep for travelers you'd start that kind of work after checkout. Shower was a little worse for wear but overall a good night for the price. Not for those with chemical sensitivities!

Dec 9th, 2019

Like many hotels/ motels managed by folks from India, they mask the smell of curry with strong scented chemical sprays. I felt like I was inhaling scented Lysol spray directly from the can. I discarded the beddings because of the same strong chemical smell in favor of the dirty sleeping bag & comforter I had in the trunk of my car. I had to use my emergency inhaler multiple times during the night. I couldn’t wait until the crack of dawn to get out of there and breath fresh air again. 3 days later, my throat and lungs are still irritated. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
