Seats to die for
Jul 20th, 2020
Gorgeous. Inspired. Breathtaking. All appropriate adjectives to describe the seats on the golf carts at Taboo Resort. The first thought that comes into your mind when sitting on these seats are ‘These can’t possibly be the seats on all the golf carts - they are too majestic.’ I figured that we got the best cart because it was my birthday but the attendant assured us that all the carts were the same and he didn’t care that it was my birthday. No one mentioned my birthday at all. The stitch work was impeccable, comfort unparalleled. I can only assume the fabric was imported leather (the clubhouse staff was unfortunately not able to answer any fabric related questions. They appeared quite durable - for sure stain and water resistant. The curvature of the seats must have been inspired by a fine Italian seamstress. The armrests were ergonomically curated to comfort an adult of any stature. While their intended function was well served, their sex appeal was undeniable. The seats were so plush I couldn’t decipher any difference between when I was driving through the rough and when I was driving on the green. When you aren’t on them, you want to be on them. When you are on them you can’t imagine being anywhere else. Golf was adequate. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Winter Weekend Getaway
Nov 18th, 2019
Although I was here in November, it was really cold with a fair bit of snow so it felt like winter. We were lucky to get a corner room with amazing views of the lake. The rooms are relatively modern. The room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed & sheets. Washroom was also large with a tub and shower. I didn’t really have time to check out the amenities however they have a lot of events scheduled which we unfortunately did not take advantage of. Front desk was also very helpful, they allowed us to check in a few hours earlier (we arrived 3 hours before the scheduled check in of 4pm) The price was very reasonable in November, I’d love to stay and play at Taboo in the summer if the prices are comparable. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed at Taboo with a large group for a hockey tournament. The staff at Taboo were so accommodating and amazing to work with! Food from the 19th Hole Gastro Pub was amazing. The children really enjoyed the campfire and s’mores as well. I would definitely consider going back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Taboo is better than you think but still room for improvement
Oct 28th, 2019
Recently stayed at Taboo this past fall, and had a good but not great experience. The plus was the quiet room - two queen beds, view of Lake Muskoka, lovely and warm gas fireplace, really spacious bathroom with deep soaker tub and large shower and minibar fridge. Check in was easy and efficient, with pleasant front desk staff. We took advantage of their hiking trails that border their golf course - nothing too technical - for a nice walk in the woods on a beautiful fall afternoon. If there was a disappointment, is their dining room. They bill the Boathouse as a bar and grill, but it is neither - feels like a bar, stuck in the middle of a series of meeting rooms, with partitions put up. The location and view is lovely, overlooking the lake but the overall feel to it is just odd. Need a major redesign, and a true pub and grill feel, would enhanced it considerably. Service was excellent, and the food was very good. A bit pricey, as per other reviews but we expected that. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
4 nights in Taboo
Oct 27th, 2019
We vacationed in Taboo in October. I'm sure it's much nicer in the summer when the golf course, tennis courts and pool are open. We were disappointed there was no indoor pool (which we enjoyed 10 years ago), no sauna, no hot tubs, no lounge; therefore no place to sit and relax/read. The restaurant's menu was very limited. On the plus side, the hikes were wonderful with the fall leaves. And the room was nice, especially the fireplace and small deck overlooking the lake with comfortable muskoka chairs. And we enjoyed visiting the nearby towns (Gravenhurst, Bracebridge (our favourite), Huntsville and Port Carling. But a lot of restaurants were closed for the winter already. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
