Wait for the refurbishment to be finished

Booked over a year in advance to stay here for 4 nights in September only to find on arrival the hotel in a state of refurbishment with no restaurants or bars available, Rooms ok but very tired as was the whole hotel. Very disappointed that the hotel did not advise us that they intended to close part of the hotel and all restaurant and bars during our stay , offered complementary breakfast but then charged for it on departure albeit after an exchange of emails this was then credited. Also tried to charge for wi if and other services not informed were available or required The main reason for booking the hotel was the rave reviews of the restaurant so bitterly disappointed and dissatisfied that these were nit available. Would recommend people to wait for the refurbishment to be completed before attempting to stay here , that said we won’t be coming back .only plus was the door staff who were excellent TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stay at the Taj in Boston whenever we want a fun experience and walkability to Beacon Hill, the theater district, Chinatown, Newbury and Boylston Streets, the Common and Public Gardens. Restaurants are everywhere and a variety of shopping.and art galleries. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Wait for the renovation to finish

While the room we had was huge, the bed very comfortable and furnishings lovely, I would not recommend this hotel until the renovation is completed. The whole experience of staying in a place under construction was odd. While we didn't hear any noise, there are massive locks on lots of the doors, temporary signs, two of the three elevators didn't work, no restaurants, cafe or bar, the fitness center is located in a guest room, the temporary breakfast is inadequate and our bathroom was in terrible shape. The lighting in the room and especially the bathroom is incredibly dim and the bathroom smelled moldy (no ventilation or window) and was very old looking. After we checked out we were directed to the lounge area to wait for our car. When my daughter tried to take a soda she was told she would have to pay for it. This after the staff told us to wait there (they could have told us to sit in the two chairs in the lobby), and we paid about $800 for our room. We also paid for a Public Garden view and we could barely see the garden distantly out the window. The doorman, bellman and front desk staff were excellent but they couldn't make up for the rest. This is the best hotel - great location! So close to everything - across the street from Boston Commons, near Beacon Hill and the subway, lots of restaurants, Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Beautiful hotel (Tiffany’s is in the lobby). Beautiful rooms. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Love this beautiful hotel the staff was incredibly kind. The room lovely very clean and the bed was heaven. We arrived late the concierge was so kind and helpful. I will return and would highly recommend this property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
