Good Location.. A bit tired

Apr 22nd, 2019

Just finished a two night stay that was booked through Amex Fine Hotels. On arrival was upgraded to a Stockton room on the 4th floor. The room itself was very simple with a minimal amount of furnishing, there were no plugs at bed side which in this day an age makes no sense. The bathroom was a little odd as the shower head would only reach my mouth and I'm only 6"1. When some sort of heavy door was closed behind where the bed was I could feel a vibration through the bed, could also hear my neighbors phone ringing early Sunday morning. All noise was internal as I did not hear much from the street considering I was on the 4th floor. The hotel is fine but not understanding how its 5 star, does not even compare to the Four Seasons or St Regis. I think my issue comes as I had higher expectations. I will say the service was good and everyone I interacted with was great but would go for one of the other hotels in the city. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t expect Taj brand service...

Apr 18th, 2019

Having stayed at taj in South Africa, London, across India and the Middle East... I expected the same standard of service. On arrival, the door man was great... helped with the bags and the door as I was on crutches- but my warm fuzzy feeling disappeared as I tried to check in... the receptionist was terrible. He had no idea about the rate or package that was booked or the requests that were made. When I asked if the hotel had met the requests made with the initial booking, he advised us they had - high floor and twin beds. He proudly told me that this was free upgrade to the room courtesy of the hotel. He advised me that breakfast wasn’t included, when I insisted it was, he finally checked in his system, and realised it was included along with the ‘free’ upgrade.. and ‘High floor’ (2nd floor!!) Room. The final straw.... as we were leaving - with no direction to the elevator he asks “would you like me to send your bags up?... not sure whether he expected me on crutches and my 73 year old mother to carry them up?! With the abundance of hotels in this city.. I think I made a poor decision by staying loyal to brand. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable, quiet an clean

Apr 16th, 2019

Great location near union square. Very quiet rooms, clean and well appointed. Bathroom was gigantic. It’s is a relatively small hotel, no big crowds. Front desk staff was nice, however don’t expect rose petals at check-in like in India. I got a good deal on line and it was definitely a good stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Service

Apr 15th, 2019

The hotel is great, the rooms are spacious and the bathroom is perfect. However, what I liked the most was the service. The staff is really awsome. James at the bar, very kind. Carlos, the concierge, great, and Honeylen, the manager, so profesional and really impressive. I thank all of them and the rest of the people working there, because they made our stay perfect. Nice boutique hotel

Apr 13th, 2019

Really nice small hotel. Excellent room facilities and friendly staff. Nice workout room on 11th floor. Bistro is a decent option for food if you can't afford to splurge on the Michelin star restaurant. One star docked for have stairs on the floor which makes it terrible if you have a bad back and a heavy suitcase. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
