Rooftop pool with views of the city
Noisy accommodations on lower floors
Everyone from Babe Ruth to Queen Elizabeth II has spent the night at The Adolphus, which was opened by beer tycoon Adolphus Busch in 1912. Close to the Neiman Marcus flagship store in Dallas' historic district, this hotel exudes elegance and charm and appeals to those looking for a historic but luxurious stay. While some past guests lamented the once dated guest rooms, new patrons will be happy to know that the decor has undergone a modern refresh. However, issues with noise from the loud ballrooms still remain; request a room on a high floor for a more peaceful rest. Most visitors also agree that the food served at The French Room restaurant is worth the rather high price tag, with some diners even saying that it's some of the best cuisines in the city. Plus, members of the Marriott Bonvoy program can earn and use points here.

Critic Reviews

Built in 1912 by beer magnate Adolphus Busch, it's a landmarked Beaux Arts storehouse of treasures (17th-century Flemish tapestries, magnificent murals in the restaurant, crystal chandeliers).

In the gracious lobby, rich fabrics, dark woods, elaborate floral arrangements, and intimate seating areas belie the hustle of the streets just outside.

One of Dallas' grand dames, the 407-room Adolphus features a large, elegant lobby and one of the city's finest restaurants, The French Room.
