Love/Love tennis package
Nov 16th, 2020
Other than Disney with kids, it’s the most we ever spent on a single weekend BUT the service was even better than Disney. From the last minute booking until the moment we left every need was anticipated and then some. Bell/Valet staff were so quick and helpful. Jasper the tennis pro was great for our 2 hour lesson, robust workout with respectful/useful instruction. Covid precautions were everywhere, even a wrap on the steering wheel. The only place that felt a little iffy on masks was the restaurant shuttle, no fault of the resort, but after a few drinks people were pulling masks down on the way back to the hotel. We stayed at The American Club as an overnight getaway for our 20th anniversary. We were treated with an upgrade and a complementary bottle of wine and a very thoughtful, hand written anniversary note. Thank you so much to Beth at the front desk and Tom for treating us so special. You really went above and beyond. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
One night at the Carriage House during Covid
Oct 23rd, 2020
We just came back from a one-night stay at the Carriage House. This was our first stay in The American Club, and I am sure it would not be the last. We initially booked the Immersion Suite, and it looked like we got silently upgraded to a Governor suite. I didn't like it in the beginning, as I really wanted Immersion suite with its light modern interior and a fancy bathtub in the middle of the room. The old-style rooms didn't really appeal to me from the pictures. But the room looked much better in reality compared to the pictures. And we really liked the room we were given. The furnishing looked high quality, the bathroom was huge, with nice fittings - of course, it was Kohler :) The room felt extremely clean - and I mean it! The bathroom had that fancy Japanese style toilet with a heated seat - which would freak us out as it would open by itself every time you come to the bathroom :))) I had previous experience with those while travelling in Japan, but my husband didn't. So it was really amusing to use the toilet and all its fancy features for us :))) We ate in two of the restaurants - Whistling Straits and BlackWolf Run, and both were great! The food, the service, the interior, the view - just charming! The Carriage House didn't provide all their regular amenities in the way they used to. But it was our first time, so we had nothing to compare with. And we felt like the hotel made a decent effort to still provide amenities for the guests. We got a bottle of wine, pre-packaged snacks and veggie tray brought to the room in the evening. And we got nice tasty pre-packaged breakfast brought to the room in the morning. Yes, there was some bottled orange juice etc. But we live in strange unusual times right now. Stuff is not going to be the way it used to be. We ordered dinner through a room service, and it was very tasty, hot, and delivered very promptly served at the table. We didn't even see the delivery person, so it was a real contactless delivery :) We did get a good deal on the room price. Maybe if I had to pay 800 bucks for a room, I would feel differently about the value we got for the price. But the hotel is still the same nice hotel. I used the spa, and it was very enjoyable. I had body treatment in the spa too. That was a great experience. The therapist felt very professional, considerate and the whole experience was extremely relaxing. I can't say enough good things about the stuff in the hotel. Everybody felt very professional, very helpful and easy to deal with. I definitely would rate the service very high. We very much enjoyed our stay, and definitely will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I spent a lot of money to celebrate our anniversary. I filled out their questionnaire to discuss my concerns so I didn’t have to put it in a public forum but I was never contacted. Extremely disappointing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My wife & I spent the long Labor Day weekend in Kohler, staying at the Carriage House. Heather was extremely helpful in booking the room, golf & dining. This is a terrific resort and we enjoyed every minute. We celebrated our anniversary dinner in the Wisconsin Room, which was excellent, but our most memorable dinner was the previous evening, dining al fresco at Whistling Straits. Spectacular view over the 18th hole of the Straits course to Lake Michigan. We enjoyed our rounds at the Meadows Valley course and the truly excellent River Course. The resort was extremely conscientious about Covid precautions and we felt as safe as we could be anywhere these days. Having breakfast and happy hour refreshments delivered to the room was certainly different than going downstairs, but a good compromise. This was my fourth visit to The American Club and I would recommend it to anyone! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
