Great Hotel in Old Town FC

Feb 13th, 2020

Great boutique hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Nicely refurbished older rooms. Most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in! Other furnishings rather minimal. Very good location in Old Town Fort Collins. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Detailed evocation of another era

Feb 12th, 2020

I was attracted to this hotel because of the name, and the chance to escape the generic US hotel experience. We were on a over-scheduled road trip and, by the time I was confident to book, we needed two rooms instead of a suite for three, so it was a bit expensive. I also encountered an inflexible reservations person at the hotel when I phoned. It was a bit off-putting and I ended up booking through a broker paying $AUD, which I normally try not to do. All this was swept aside when we arrived at the hotel. The staff were warm, energetic and genuine. I loved the lobby and all the decor with the old photos, inventions, memorabilia etc. The rooms were beautifully furnished and comfortable. It was very cold with ice and snow on the ground outside but, from short exploration, I loved the town and the central location of this hotel. The concierge contacted me by text message to offer help and advice, which was a nice touch. I would have loved to have stayed longer. The attached hipster cafe provided excellent coffee, art to look at and breakfast food. The "vibe" reminded me a bit of an ACE hotel but was even friendlier. This place opened as an hotel almost 100 years ago and has had a diverse history as a place to stay/live since then. It was nice to be a part of this historical hospitality legacy, if only for a night. From one Armstrong to another, thank you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing Hotel, Amazing Staff

Feb 12th, 2020

I live in Salt Lake City and visit Fort Collins a couple times every year. This time was my first stay at The Armstrong Hotel, and I can't imagine ever staying anywhere else in the future. Not only is this beautiful hotel located in a perfect spot, but I can't remember ever being treated so amazingly well by hotel staff (and by ALL the staff) in any hotel ever. Never. EVER. Great base camp to explore Fort Collins

Feb 11th, 2020

We decided to come up to Fort Collins for the night after a mountain trip was thwarted by snow. This hotel had a great deal on a room so we took it. It's a lovely property! The location can't be beat, as it is within walking distance to most of the popular bars, restaurants and shops around Old Town. The room was clean, well-designed, and cozy. I liked that it is an old building and they kept all of the original charm. My only cons are the lack of decent parking (it is $20 for valet or you can drive around looking for 48 hour parking in the area) and the brightness/loudness of the hotel at night. The windows above the door to your room let in a lot of light in the evening and for some, it can make it challenging to sleep. The beds are really comfortable though, so I can't complain too much. Overall, I would stay here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good but I don’t understand the hype

Feb 9th, 2020

We stayed here for two nights. What you get at this hotel is a great location. That’s about where the blown-away greatness ends. The hotel is old which gives it lots of charm. But the rooms aren’t anything special. They remind me of your typical Brooklyn alcove studio. Bed linens and pillow were fabulous. The bar and restaurant downstairs was closed and that’s one of the reasons we booked it. There was no mention on the website we used to book of this. Just don’t know what the hype is. Average stay at an average hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
